The collection is quite pretty. It's a bit boring, but Galliano was boring the last few seasons too. It's not innovative or original, but again, Galliano wasn't innovative nor original his last few seasons either. I think my biggest issue with it was that it just looked SO OLD FASHIONED. Save a few pieces here and there, you could've shown me the collection and said it was from 1956 and I would've believed you. The shapes, the print, the fabric (combined with the hair) just made it look so aged. And I understand the whole "going back" thing they tried to do, but even while going back, you have to move forward or at least stay current. Instead, they just rehashed what they found in their archives and basically replicated the pieces.
Dior house is in desperate need of some rejuvenation. The longer they sit on their hands without a new head designer in charge, the longer their image will deteriorate and before you know it, it may be too late. I really believe Christian Dior label is on the brink of losing all its relevancy in fashion (if it still has any left).
