Omigod, they used to make jeans called shrink to fit too!! There're picture of my mom sitting in the bathtub with her jeans on!Emery said:we'd buy jeans one size too small, soak them in cold water, and wear them until they were dry. Gives perfect, PERFECT fit. Besides, it was kind of a macho Rite of Passage at the time!

I have eight pair of Diesel jeans, I love their fit...of course, I wear girls jeans on a size 4, Gap's Slim Fit, Long & Lean, Ultra Low bootcut are my faves also, they fit perfect 
My True Religion jeans fit amazing, but I hardly wear them cause they cause me a leg rash for some reason 
So as Space said, it's all about the people, there's people who cheap denim brands works for them, and there's people who designer brand denim works best
