Time for our annual EML thread

Castings are underway in many countries, and the first winners have already been chosen.

The international final will be held in China again (like last year), in October. Although, knowing these people, the date and location are likely to change at least once along the way

À l’issue de la soirée, Clara Thierry a été désignée gagnante du concours Elite à l’île Maurice. Cette jeune franco-mauricienne mesure 1,72 mètre et aura 15 ans en juin. Dans quelques mois elle participera à la finale internationale qui se déroulera pour la seconde année consécutive en Chine.

I think some mother agents do. Chantale Nadeau had a girl in this. In the US I think Ginny Edwards sent a girl.

^ wasn't that a one-time thing, in 2006? there haven't been any Canadian girls the last couple of years

the winners always come from the strong Elite franchises anyway (Paris, Prague/Bratislava, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm etc), and i guess most Canadian agents would rather focus on their NYC connections

We have more girls on their way to China! The Polish final was held today, and two girls were chosen to compete internationally: Dominika, the official Polish winner, and Patrycja, the popular choice winner. I'm pleased Dominika won, she was my in my top 3 from the 21 finalists.

The final round of Japan's 2009 Elite Model Look contest took place on Wednesday. Out of an initial field of 3,000 candidates, two grand prize winners were chosen - Manami Teruya (16) and Yui Okuma (18), both from Okinawa.

Teruya and Okuma will represent Japan in the international competition, which is being held this October in Sanya, China.
