Givenchy F/W 12.13 : Daniela, Joan, Simone, Stef, Stella & Rodrigo by Mert & Marcus

This is the first time I haven't loved a Givenchy campaign. I just don't get it.

Givenchy was my favorite campaign last season, looks like it's going to be once again. This looks SO GOOD! Love the setting, the styling, the logo.

The full spread of Stella`s is beautiful! OMG

TURN IT LOUD: Riccardo Tisci, whose shows for Givenchy often feature bone-shuddering electronic music, has decided to portray the euphoric energy of a rave party in the French house’s fall campaign, featuring model Stella Tennant.

“It is about happiness and the freedom of expressing yourself with your body. It shows a dynamic, happy and fun world, which is what fashion needs,” the designer told WWD about the fractured images. “Stella represents modernity, elegance, masculinity and femininity at the same time, together with a dynamic, energetic beauty.”

Joan Smalls, Stef van der Laan, Daniela Braga, Simone Nobili, Jarrod Scott and Rodrigo Braga are the other “new stars of the Givenchy gang” who join the party with Tennant, Tisci added. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott photographed the ads, with styling by Carine Roitfeld. The spots are slated to break in September issues of various international editions of Vogue, as well as Harper’s Bazaar and W.

Stella's shot looks fantastic, and I just adore the aluminium foil she's wearing with this dress.

Aww, so no MCB.

I think MCB is being put to more focus on the fragrance that the house is doing now. Honestly she's been doing these campaigns for 6-7 years now it's probably about time that they wait a little and kind of make it a "special moment" to bring her back.

I like the idea of this campaign, I think the best words to describe this campaign are "glitchy" and "illusional". The fact that how the image between the models bodies are split but somehow their leg posture makes it seems as though their bodies have morphed together gives it a unique take for the house. I have to say i'm also a big fan of gloomy wilderness settings.

I dont think I love Givenchy anymore.
Everything is so blank and used.
There is no more exitement, its everything super pretentious and expected.
From the colection to the campaign I think there should be a restructuring of the label, because this last months didnt work really much.

Might easily be my favourite campaign of the season so far (which is quite ironic 'cause the collection itself was miserable).
Anyway, loving the setting, the cast... I always enjoy to see Stella, she's an unmistakable choice to go with.
Generally I've been a fan of all of their noughties ads, and this one echoes a bit of the fall 2006 campaign to me, that also includes Stella alongside with Liya and MCB, which not only do I see in this cloudy background but also in the bits of the women's collection... so who knows, maybe it does have some relevance.
Oh, and I'm quite fond of this shifted logo as well, helps to create a pleasing, balanced composition.

Mariacarla is 8 months pregnant (or something like that) at the moment... that's probably a factor in her not appearing in this campaign
