Gucci F/W 2019.20 Milan

No animals, dead birds and plants, that's a first lol. This looked far more visually appealing than all his other collections. There was a strong 40s vibe, I think this is his best collection for the house.

His best? Hardly. That was Spring 2016.

This is pretty tame and very wearable for Alessandro. Seems to be way more clothing focused and less accessories than in the past.

This collection has some of his strongest pieces since he's been CD but as a collection it's too all over the place. The harnesses and spikes make zero sense in this context.

The embroidered and overly embellished looks that we've come to know Gucci by are the weakest in this collection. This feels like a placeholder and palette cleanser of sorts for a new direction but I won't hold my breath for Alessandro.

For a second, i thought the red suit with blue mask was belong to Undercover's latest menswear collection.

The giant shoulder pads immediately look dated and I don't care for the ragged overstitching on the coats. And who needs Gucci knee pads?! I oddly like the last look, but as Scotty noted, it would all show better with different styling.

Definitely his best collection in a really long time. I love it. Sure it has some of the usual Gucci vices (too many looks, over-merchandising), but this felt like a much stong fashion message. There was an exercise throughout the collection, you could sense him trying different things. The styling feels more precise and put together. Loving the play with silhouette on the tailoring. Those masks could feel gimmicky but I thought they looked really cool, almost horror film-y. I only wish the set was different. Don't get why he goes for these big tech productions (some people must've been blinded by those lights). It doesn't connect with the clothes. A location show like that graveyard of the Resort show would create a killer mood.

Hey, at least we’ll probably get a great ad campaign.

I’m just tired of Gucci by Michele. I don’t even know why i’m Commenting it...

And after the « blackface » controversy, he is showing people with masks. How clever.
He clearly doesn’t know how social media controversies starts...

I actually like this. Is already my favorite collection of him. Its way more focus, when I saw the first 5 looks I got it what this collection is all about.

Im obsessed with this look, maybe he already did something like this before and I miss it because all the distractions. Its like a twisted and weird Gucci by Frida, love it.

The bad critiques still almost the same, like I already seen this look 3 times in past collections with a different fabric and/or print, he just put a helmet and fur on top this time. I just think that when someone, like Alessandro, does something right, we should talk about.

Feels like a bunch of inmates escaping from a mental institution jail...I can imagine them getting dressed in a rush, randomly, just to get all their stuff and flee from their padded cells.
