MaLena i like comparisons so I can make an educated decision if the flaws are something I can live with or not. In chicago you can dress down with a birkin, not with sweats but jeans, but it is a must to have to the shoes to back it up. not a bad trade off if i have $600 auth shoes and a rep bag, it helps to justify it, plus here you wear coats so much if you have a good coat you're golden

I agree 100%!

I DO. probably because i don't get a ******* if strangers think my bag goes with my juicy sweats or my classier designer clothes. i also like to defy the "rules" of styling and raise a few eyebrows

And also i figure if THE woman herself can do it......then i could try--if i ever get my bag of course. ;)

post of the day B) And I agree with you 1000% percent. Who comes up with all these fashion 'rules', anyway? The one fashion rule I live by is, if I like it, I wear it.

well yeah, she's not wearing this....

anyways... still hoping jacky will do the A. Wang backpack some day.. too bad it's sold out everywhere

I don't think color of sweatpants was specified, though. Just "sweatpants". There are a million different designs and colors of them - it's all in how you wear them and what you wear them with. I wear sweatpants out sometimes. If I'm just chilling at the house and happen to be wearing sweatpants, and I suddenly need to run out the store or some other errand, or decide to go out to Starbucks, I'm not going to stop and change my clothes so that some stranger in the street will approve of what I'm wearing. I'll grab whatever bag I'm using - usually a rep Bal, but sometimes one of my auths - and go out. :)

Found this one too!!! (source:thesartorialist), this looks very casual euro chic..but it works ^_^ I still think based on JB, that the birkin was meant to be broken in like a bbag and loved loved loved despite all the pretentious airs surrounding it. :p

I think that clothing thing is cultural... in the US people do run around in sweats/random sloppy clothes and auth birkins. even though I live in Europe I'd totally do that too (as if people here would know what a Hermes is  or as if I'd care what random people think :ninja:), don't own a birkin yet, but ordered a Kelly which I wouldn't hesitate to wear with sloppy clothes :P

Totally rock it!! I love the (not sure which kelly) smooshy kelly that isn't "rigid", looks good with everything!

ITA about that bag being meant for actual USE. i honestly can't recall seeing my mom with any of her birkins closed up, prim and proper. such bags were meant to be loved, to be worn and used. fill them up, ladies - set them on the ground, even! mom's everyday birks have seen the world - and show it. get a freaking exotic if you want something to baby.

it's the mary poppins bag. it is indestructible. (and until i can afford my own, i will mooch from her...or maybe buy one from jacky, and if anyone asks, just lie and say it's hers :innocent:)

madonnacomplex - i'd love to see your red maxi, if you have a chance to take pics. i'm wondering if the C's vary from bag to bag?

EDIT: sorry, i checked the other thread! thanks for the clear pictures. the port is gorgeous! i really love the beige/black combo.

Hi Kimkhuu,

I love this style, and I've tried starting a list awhile back, but unfortunately with the opened top, not many people are interested. :(

Balenciaga Besaces are so gorgeous.............. Anyone would be down with
making a list for this for T&D????
Looks great in either covered hardware, GSH.
I think it looks great in brownish cream or olive tones, like olive brown, truffle or
even anthracite..........

:crush: :crush: :crush: :crush:

mm07--I know lots of people have already said it but I LOVE your bbag family!! Soooo jealous!! ;)

madonnacomplex--I love your red/coral chanel bag! I've been thinking about getting it but have been unsure about whether it fits me, and your pictures have pushed me over the edge. LOVE IT! (of course, now I have to pinch my pennies to afford it...at least it's just a small fraction of the price of an auth!)

i am looking at pics at tpf of maxis and some DO have really thin C's. it's odd. some look more along the lines of the C's we see on jumbo flaps and some are thin. i only briefly saw this bag while in another city (the auth maxi) and it definitely had "normal" C's, but now that i see these i'm thinking jacky's are dead on, just like his jumbos. i'm tempted to get the black caviar with GH...i'd love the red, but i'm a caviar girl.

Would anyone be interested in starting a list for the Balenciaga "pom-pom" style?

if i tell ya all about how i "perfect" my bags, you will put me in the crazy hospital, lol

i don't know about anyone else but i would really love to know. i hardly ever post but you really peeked my curiosity. what do you do to your poor bag?

jenn s - i would be interested in black with covered hardware (which t&d have yet to do). i don't really like the poms with GGH and already have too many bags with SGH.

Please forgive my immaturity ladies, but am I the only one who thought this was funny? :brows:

You are most certainly not! :D
I nearly spewed miso soup all over my screen when I read that, followed by a loud guffaw and lots of giggling...
Even more giggling ensued when I turned my screen to show my girlfriends!

I think I will make that my signature: I Veiny Bals :p

I'm not rolling in $$ at the moment but I come from a very "comfortable" family and have wealthy (and generous) grandparents. I don't think you can judge someone's income based on their bags. I know multi-millionaires who carry nameless brands and I know women from "middle class" incomes who carry auth LV. You really don't know so you really shouldn't assume. I don't think its silly for me to order lots of reps....I'm not trying to gain access into social groups with my bags.....I just happen to like them so I buy them. I don't buy a bag because its an "it" bag, I ONLY buy bags I truly love. It's the same reason I don't wear many of the huge trends right now (full jumpsuits, neon sunglasses, etc). If it's not me and my taste, I pass, no matter how "in fashion". The same goes for my bags and I DO carry them with confidence! :)

missann: Jacky is notorious for confirming stock and then being out of stock 20 minutes later. It's quite frustrating!! I'm sure his next batch will be great though!! Your bag will be beautiful, don't worry! :)

ame: Now I'm all nervous that I'll have typos galore!! I mentally correct people's grammar all the time (like when some says "He's older than me" when they should say "I am". Those things make me batty! ;)

what do you think of this coffer replica? i can't find any major flaws when comparing it pics of the auth. (maybe i'm bad at spotting them. lol)
