so here's pics of my amethyst work. pics were taken in my bedroom.
the first 2 pics - without flash, the third one with flash, the last one pic of auth amethyst from tpf for comparison.

^Wow, that actually looks quite beautiful! I've never seen replicas like that before, only ones that were very obvious. Clearly I am out of the loop with this! My friend has an authentic aquamarine(?) and the stitching is not tight on the bottom (ie the tension of the stitching is off). Is it possible to have better quality in a rep bag?

This is going out especially to KitterKat. T&D only has Argent City with RH in stock. All the other styles are sold out.

And, I am also very, very sad to report that I tried my luck and asked T&D whether they have any Amethyst Twiggy in stock still, but everything's sold out in Amethyst.

cloudyblue, congrats on your super pretty bag! If I may ask, is the colour more vibrant in real life? The photos seem to make the colour of the bag look a tad washed out and paler.

Everything looks paler with no flash. Everyone has said how completely VIBRANT amethyst is, a hot shocking pinkish purple color. It's perfect!!!!!

Are the handles of the City with RH long enough to be carried on the shoulders? I'm a bit confused because the handle seems too short for shoulder-carry, and most use the long strap.

Yet, I do remember seeing a photo of a TPF member pose with her City in RH, in which the handles were slung on her shoulders and they seemed to fit just nicely.

Any advice?

anyway, been away from the board for a while (effing work stuff) so have a bit to catch up on. but hmmmmm have hermes twillies on my mind. don't think i can rock a scarf proper but twillies are so cute!!!

and someone said earlier that there are excellent hermes clic clac reps as well right? where from??? (altho, eeks i theoretically am on a ban)

so yeah, any recommendations for hermes twillies and clic clacs, pls? thanks!

i have a gen city and have friends with it too. and the only person i know who can comfortably use it over her shoulders is a seriously petite friend of mine, she's like 5'1 and is really thin. so it depends on what your frame? but i personally wouldn't recommend it - i guess theoretically you could stretch the handles tho... but... i think if you want a bbag that is shoulder worn, the city may not be your best bet. hth

omg, just saw your pics valkyrie i'm so gutted to have passed on the argent. it's soooo gorgeous!!!! argggggggggggggh. i'm gonna email to ask if they're willing to have another run with GSH, if anyone else is interested, maybe ask as well?

oh and shelley and everyone else who has been looking at eric's sites. is it just me or are his sites down?? cos i can access only one of his sites, and i keep getting error messages for the others (it's been going on for a while). and i've emailed him to ask but he says all the links work for him - i've already tried lowering my firewall settings specifically for his sites to no avail

first, city, PT, Twiggy, Work...i wear it over my shoulder, i never use the straps

No, I dont strech the handles, I worn my First once and I was with evening dress, I dont think I can wear first over shoulder if I wear jacket

hehe ok same for me, with a shirt it's a just fit but after some usage handles always stretch a bit, I just think it's cuter without the extra strap

yeah the color is still more vibrant irl than the pics. but those pics are the best pics of all i took. i used 'super fine quality' and 'macro' features on my digital camera coz they usually help to capture details.
