I am eyeing Jacky's Prada Pleated Deerskin Satchel (Beige) because it looked fantastic in the photos on his site. I was wowed by the quality and workmanship because it looked identical to my friend's authentic bag, and cost only 1/10 of the price! Then I emailed Jacky to ask and he confirmed the bag in the photos is authentic.

Has anyone ever purchased Prada leather bags from Jacky before? How's the quality of the leather like? I don't quite understand why he doesn't put up photos of the completed rep bag (like T&D). Why put photos of the authentic bag when buyers are really keen in seeing the quality of the rep?

Malena- Is the Miu Miu Bow in Tan from Jacky for yourself? If so, how are you liking it? If not, how is your dear girlfriend liking it? I have a thing for bags in that color range now...hehe...

Both me and my friend got one. However, I have so many bags and am definitely planning to buy an authentic Bow (I don't like this season's glazed leather, so I'm waiting for the next round of colours and leather), so I decided to sell mine to another friend of mine for the price I paid for it because it hasn't been used at all. After inspecting and seeing many Bows, either in pics or real life, I can say that J's bag is by far the best rep out there, the only acceptable rep in fact, Catty's and all other on iOffer are terrible. This one feels and looks lovely, if you like it, I say go for it! I can check with the girls if the bag is endurable as an everyday bag and can report back here after they have carried their bags for a while.

xooey: i'm also eyeing that prada bag. I got the prada deerskin tote for my friend last time, and the leather is lovely. It's really soft and nice, but I have no idea if it's real deerskin or not (though Jacky said it's real deerskin). Sometime Jacky updates the photo but most of the time he didnt. and sometime when u ask him for pics of the rep, he will give u, but sometime he will say it'll just like the auth.

MaLena: I've been searching the best rep for bow bag too, and in terms of details I do think Jacky is better than Catty, in this case the sughero brown bow. The edge trimming paint color and zipper color on most reps are light brown while the auth I've seen is dark, so Jacky is correct. stitching color is still off though..in his sughero bow pics eveything is correct so i think it's the auth, but when i asked him he said the pics are the reps.

Re: the Bow, Malena and Cloudyblue - I've held off on getting this bag cause of one detail only - the little circular metal loops that are on each of the leather strips going down the front of the bag (I hope you know what I mean!). On the authentics that I have seen, these are more like in the middle of the strips on the front of the bag, but in the reps they seem to be nearly at the bottom of the front of the bag. Like a whole inch or two lower than they appear to be on the authentics.

Is this something anyone else has noticed or am I getting totally confused in my head and this isn't an issue between the authentics & the reps. As I said, this is the only thing putting me off getting one so if I was re-assured on this point I'd probably order one. It's a gorgeous bag irl.

I had a feeling J's prada deerskin was too good to be true-I just about DIED when I saw it on his 'coming soon' page-I just looked at it again last night and had it as part of my 'coming off my ban soon' list (all my $$ has been going toward my wedding lately).

I have his prada brown leather pleated bag, the one with the darker fade-out around the edges of the pleating. It's from a couple of years ago. The bag is lovely-great leather, not stiff or plasticky at all. The HW is defitnitely brass, not plated, and very solid. I think I paid $135-140 for it and it has held up beautifully. Gotten lots of compliments on it, too-even my Dad commented on it!!

His black deerskin tote looks pretty nice, and so do his deerskin drawstring bags (but i am more of a top handle type of gal).

Wish he would post his real pic of his rep so I can stop drooling over the auth

I don't think Jacky will post photos of the Prada deerskin rep. He told me his rep is "99% close" to the real deal.

you guys are SO GOOD. what i did notice on the pics malena posted was the edges of the bag were kind of sloppy.

xooey - i think jacky's (or anyone's, really) prada is hit or miss. i have seen a lot of bad fonts, but then i've seen some that were perfect, so it's just a chance you take.

happieglucky - no passable muses to date, but there are good muse II's floating around. jacky's were great, but he no longer makes them.

amethyst - no, no LV for me. i feel dumb enough buying a fake expensive bag for such a thing and i'm certainly not going to bust out some monogram while hiking through the ruins. i am thinking the mini flap might be TOO small though. it doesn't look like it would hold a digi cam and a phone...

i agree the praline still looks a little green, but i'm pretty sure it's the lighting. if we can find out if ECs existed in 2007 it can pass as naturel, but i'm not sure bal made them then. maybe it looks green because it's hanging out with the maldives. although it did look green in the sample pics. i guess it's just their cheap/hideous studio lighting.

no, i ended up not getting the bag at all! LOL! after all of that lobbying for them to bring back the brief!

i just don't really use big bags anymore. i still LOVE the brief, but i already have one and have kind of retired from huge bags. i'm sure i'll go back eventually, but right now day clutches, and smaller bags feel more current for me. i'm a little bit of a nut when it comes to fashion, and you can't really wear a huge junya watanabe skirt with a big bal work. it just doesn't balance, kwim?

i'm hoping for a plain black brief with RH (which is more subdued, so it will work into my wardrobe a bit better than something with GGH) or a plain black step (i'm more a fan of this one). i'm SO happy everyone is enjoying the brief though! this means they'll do it more often, in more colors, etc. so yay!

I paid for the Anthracite Work GSH since last week and had been expecting the tracking number. I chased the boys today only for Dom to email me saying he made a mistake and sent me the wrong pictures and now only has the Anthracite Work with GGH.

I'm so pissed off!! Don't know what to do, should I accept it? Can someone with an Anthra GGH Work please just tell me if it's worth it.....

Urgh, I see your point and I totally understand Funkyshow, I ordered an Amethyst City RH and ended up getting a GSH City , I would definitely prefer a RH Amethyst City or Twiggy, so if anyone has one of those and wants a GSH City, I'm ready for swapping

littleblacksheep, I have compared the loops on my friend's bag with the ones on the pics of authentics, I think that the positioning is correct. Actually, it the depends on how full the bag is, if it is full and carried, the bottom drops a bit and the loops move higher up, and if the bag sits on sth, the loops look further down.

I'll post some pics for reference. These are all pics of authentic bags from TPF.









Try comparing those with my pics and J's pics. I don't think his pics are showing an authentic bag, it's his rep. What I have noticed is that authentic Sugheros have leather that is a bit more grainy, J's leather is not grainy at all, it is very smooth.
