Woah. Khaki, Suede, and black PS1s are sold out. I think that chatter in this thread heavily influences sales . Yeah, the PS1 does look wonderful. Do you think Jacky would slash the price or change the front clasp to black if I bought the python? It's sooo appetizing.

You can ask, I would...he can only say no, But make sure that the rest of the hardware matches aswell then.
I think sanitizedfashion has been bitten by the PS1 bug???
I'm checking authentic pyton PS1's now to see what color all the hardware is.

I never mentioned that I brought my PS1 into barney's NY in seattle and compared it to the authentic PS1. I looked at it quickly and didn't want to compare on the spot throughly. I touched the leather and just quickly look at the outer apperance. I'd say that the look is pretty much spot on. the feel of the leather is almost 100% the same. Of course i'm not sure how the authentic wears but mine was a bit worn it and comparing the feel of it is 90% the same. Maybe the authentic one had thicker leather. Overall after looking at the authentic, I can carry around my PS1 not having to worry that it looks compeltely off. You can't tell!

To make a python bag with the wrong color hardware seems like a very expensive overlook!

thank you for your review ! I am seriously considering getting the auth, since its $750, and a classic, I'm pretty sure I will get much use out of it.. I love the damier azur, its such a classic, feminine color, and i feel that its not as common as the monogram or the normal damier

All this talk of PS1 is making me tempted!! glad that you ladies are loving your PS1!

shopaholic48 From research, the Damier Azur pattern is not perfected in the rep world. There is a problem with the color of the canvas being too white and not enough yellow in it. There is a tell sign when the bag is brand new because the vachetta seems to be the same color as the white in the canvas. You can easily chance this if you speed patina your bag. However, if you were to put it side by side with an auth the canvas will be off.

I bought a Damier Azur Speedy 30 from Catty without realizing this and because it is too big , it has been sitting in my closet.

ITA - hardware should be correct especially to be paying that much for a rep (albeit real python) those little hardware details should be spot on

It's really broken in nicely as you can see by the shape, the color is really black, not how it appears with flash bouncing off it.

i think the speedy style is definitely a classic bag that you can use for years to come! that image of audrey hepburn holding hers has always stayed in my mind. also might not be worth buying the rep since the color is off.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by patina, But It can only get more slouchy and softer and broken in with use, all the hardware is black.

SIREN-is it wrong to be eyeing jacky's pom pom? i desperately want something in black-on-black with covered hardware.
The bag LOOKS good, but if you are like me, you are going to compare it to NBF quality of leather and hardware and it might not get used? Is there any other black on black that you have your eye on thats not a Bal on Jackys site?

i am looking at the leather on the close-up shots and it doesn't look THAT bad. does anyone know what the bales are like on the pom pom? is it shiny silver like jacky's? i love NBFs leather, but the majority of auth bals i've seen lately have flat leather, so i'd be willing to deal, as long as it passes for auth.

i bought a non NBF Bal pom pom from a diff seller, the leather is decent, but the bales are another talk show
I attached a pic, the leather is good, but like I said it's no T&D I like the style and I knew T&D were not going to make it so i went for it, But am happier with the NBF courier for a x body knowing it's more of an authentic match.
Maybe do a search and see some authentic pom pom bales and hardware, and see if you can do a little DIY project?
I think the leather on the pom pom pic on J's site looks good as well, Good luck with your descision.

the siren: you should double check with Jacky regarding the pompom because that's the only bag that came with the right round bales in his balenciaga collection. so it's best to make sure you will get the same one. i bought my friend a EC in purple from jacky about a year ago and i also posted pics, will try to find it. the leather is not BAD, but on a scale, NBF is 10, JAcky is 5.
NBF: softer, more distress (visible), shorter break-in time.
JAcky: harder, smooth and WILL need sometime to break-in. but for that price, why not?
i thought about getting it quite a few time, but i've not because i dont like black bag. that's the only reason that hold me back

1st post! I have been lurking for ages....and finally feel I have something to contribute. B)

My friend has had an authentic Black PS1 medium size leather bag for under a year. She wears it every day & fills it to capacity, and the strap has stretched quite thin. The hardware was painted black, and the paint has mostly worn off, especially on the clasp. The leather edges are fraying. She purchased hers in NYC.......

Seeing her authentic one, and how it has weathered & aged under those conditions makes me feel 100% confident to order a repro.

Yesterday I ordered my 1st bag from T&D yesterday (BLUE LAYETTE DAY GSH). My communication with them has been amazing so far - very thorough. I look forward to my tracking #, and eventually my bag. I will post pics & model pics when it arrives. I sent payment for it last night, and they replied this morning, mentioning that they have been down in Hong Kong today checking out the new colors

I am excited to stop lurking, and start posting in TFS
