I'm glad I'm not the only one involved in HermesGate 
Who was it that said something about the LV SC bag? It's true, that is one pricey little speedy, isn't it? After seeing cloudyblue's pics, I pretty much decided that I needed one in my life. But yeah, the retail price - yikes! The mono/damier bags like the speedy, neverfull, alma, totally, noe, and a few others are not unreasonably priced compared to the other handbags in the LV arsenal. For plastic coated canvas with a bit of trim? Yes. I like to think of them as my car dealer put it......they're entry-level handbags. Something to get you in the door so to speak. Much like the 3-series BMW, MB C-class, Audi A4's and the like. You buy one and they've gotcha! You want something bigger/better/more expensive next time.
Good for all of you for giving the Birkin and other super-elite bags a serious thought. There's nothing worse for me than seeing an 18 year old girl carrying a Birkin. It screams fake to me more than a Murakami-vomit fest at the local high school. *disclaimer: I know some of you are going to tell me that it's perfectly normal for an 18 year old to have a Birk, but puh-leeze....if you're waiting for the bus, honeychild, it ain't real!
I know that asl_bebes looks awesome-possum in her mod pics with her Birkin. The bag isn't wearing her, that's for sure.
And I'll tell ya sumthin' else, I know for a fact that if anyone dared to ask missann (who could charm the horns off a billy goat) if her Birkins are real, she'd beat them like a rug (with the backside of her 30cm)

But with a Birkin that's a completely different story... that's why I'm still hung up on whether to get a Chanel Classic Flap or not, I can probably style it well but I think too many people will suspect it's a fake!
i want one!!
) That being said.... I'm really torn because I have this feeling that I'm going to feel like a major stoopid-o for forking over the $750 when I already have an exact copy. KWIM? It's just that I feel that I really NEED the auth version.
