Model Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

fyi here's the nytimes piece
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/10/fashion/shows/10promoter.html?_r=1&ref=fashion&oref=slogin

quote:

After he walked away, Mr. Batori said of the fellow promoter, whom he knows: “He’s like 29. Look at him, small time. Came to New York 10 years ago, still small time. Dragging models around.
“And look at me, a couple years ago living in a model apartment eating ramen for dinner.” He used his steak knife to smear mashed potatoes onto a slice of filet before dragging it through the sauce on his plate and moving it into his mouth. “Look at me now.”
On the back of his chair hung the Prada coat. To the touch, the fine wool was as soft as the underbelly of a lamb.

yeah coat from the $1,000 prada gift certificate alana gave him

:P

Well, I think they obviously wanted to make him look like a big shot and make it dramatic-sounding.

I knew someone who was interviewed by Seventeen magazine (which is not the NYT, I realize) about how she got started with her online blog. They twisted it into a whole new story about how she poses suggestively and it made a stalker come after her, which was only 5 minutes of the interview but it was all they concentrated on. So the media can twist things - who wants to read about the nice guy who gets to promote parties for a living? It's more interesting if they play it up and make him sound like a douche, a jerk who parties all the time.

That said, if his job is to go out to parties and Alana dislikes that, that would create some conflict, wouldn't it? If your boyfriend was going out all the time and you don't like going out?

Alana seems like a really smart, sensible girl though... I don't think she'd be hanging out with him if he used her and made her unhappy.

Jourdan is in my opinion one of the nicest girls one could meet. Very sweet and polite and cheerful :flower:

yay, that's so nice to hear that about jourdan! thank you, smokebreak ^_^

hmm, anyone have anything on rachel clark...i'm dying to know what she's like LOL......... :innocent:

I hear she's very friendly and well spoken.

But of course, you can't believe everything you hear.

;):p

Rachel Clark is the most difficult model to work with! the worst attitude. total snob. and i am joking! so don't take this post seriously.

I think the best model behavior I have heard of is from Ali.

She's got a firm hold on her life since she isn't willing to sabotage her health for a few lousy Paris shows.

That's model behavior. Very respectable.

Yep I agree. Ali is a great girl, she's to be admired. I wish more models would follow her behavior.

"somewhere on the same island" counts, OKAY??

Anyone has something on Lara Stone? She seems really laid back and cool to me.

I have heard from people who met Lera, she is not a diva like the Prada thing might suggest. She is actually very sweet and cute. But, she can be very crazy sometimes. Does anyone know if this is true????

She's one of those people you can't put generalizations on and expect consistency from. Not sure if I can explain it..
....nursery rhyme reference time:
"There was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good she was very very good, but when she was bad she was horrid."
