I completely agree with Psylocke about Charlotte tbh. Her attitude is just...I'm not sure the word...irritating? The thing that bothered me most was her comment about Francisco. It didn't even bother me actually I just don't get why she would post that. I am definitely not a fan of him but why she would say that on a public blog is beyond me. I just hope for her potential "employers" don't read her blog.

I think [Gisele] gets a bad rap in the media because of Tom's ex fervent public bashing, but everyone who has worked with her for real always says nice things. I think it shows in her success.

Here's a quote from a 2004 GQ article about male models:

Truths about male models:

1. In a business where the designers and stylists are predominantly
gay - and where many assume that male models are, too - the majority
of male models seem not to be gay at all. "I know everyone," says
Shaun, "and only models that I know of are gay."

2. Summing up male-model attitudes towards their female
counterparts, one male model named Damien says, "Most girl models
are social-climbing b*tches who won't talk to you unless you're
loaded. You see 18-year-old girls with 50-year-old wankers all the
time." Gisele ranks high on the list of those they dislike. Another
model says, "She travels around with this little ****ing white
terrier named Vida, and sits there either talking about herself or
her dog. One time, I did a job with her, and we were there for hours
sweating it out in suits, waiting for her to show up. When the limo
pulled up, she got out with Vida and said, 'What are you standing
around for?' and another guy turned to one of the stylists and said
very loudly, so Gisele could hear, 'Will someone tell Gisele to shut
the **** up?'"

3. On the other hand, most male models love Christy Turlington.

Full article is posted here on tFS.

I've heard nice and bad things about her but I think everyone has their good and bad days.

........and my love for Charlotte has officially ended. Seriously, fur is overdone? Can we talk about how the pink f***ing hair is overdone? The gurl needs to calm down. She's so effing pretentious to the point where I want to throw up.

god forbid she have an opinion or a moral compass.

if she doesn't want to do it, she takes the financial loss. call her a bad model or whatever, say that she isn't cut out for her line of work, but in the end Charlotte comes out of this with a lighter paycheck, but a much clearer conscience.

I don't care one way or the other about fur or Charlotte free, but I think it's good that she, like any young person, cares about things other than her own advancement and he own bank account.

not sure if you skipped through what i said, but i did also commend her... it went away after she began to bash the industry she worked in which is why i said maybe se should choose another profession:innocent:

that seems counterproductive, though. how can we as a society progress, in any line of work or industry, if those who are doing the right thing just leave?

^Totally OT, but you are so right. In all its simplicity very arresting comment. I tried to give you karma, but I couldn`t :(

^^I don't think what she's saying bothers people as much as the pretentious way she go abouts saying things.

see nothing about her comment being productive though... she is just complaining over tumblr, and being pretentious about it. If she would have just left it alone after that first paragraph then i would have never posted it in his thread.

it seems to me like people tend to label something "pretentious" or accuse someone of proselytizing if they strongly come out for or against something where we normally wouldn't expect it. "she's just a pretty face, who is she to talk about this? she should just be quiet and stare at the camera."

I mean, if she thinks fur is unethical, or even simply that it looks tacky, why can't she say it? I'm sure we all have strong feelings about fashion and I know I certainly don't preface them with "disclaimer: this is only my humble opinion but denim jackets look terrible." of course she's not going to use polite vocabulary, she's 18/19 and using twitter.

There are very serious ethical questions raised by using fur in fashion. It stirs real and genuine emotional responses. Why do you automatically doubt Charlotte's authenticity? because she's "supposed" to just be quiet and not question her industry? unlike a lot of us, she has the freedom to criticize it and it seems like it would be a waste if she didn't.

Fashion is a member of the great arts, and it is often in history that progress and change grows and flourishes from this part of society. it doesn't seem like now is a good time to start snuffing out the voices of those who see an opportunity to talk about change.

She has a point about the fur thing....
Still, I can't take her seriously for some other reasons. I mean... Charlotte is continuously bashing the fashion industry for the apparent "lack of originality" while she herself plainly looks like Williamsburg's average hipster, both attitude and style wise. How's that original?

I know I am late, but WTF DID SHE SAY ABOUT MY FRANCISCO?

It's beyond me how this Charlotte girl ever ended up in the fashion industry. If there's such a great need for a pretty "hipster" girl with dye-damaged hair I can show them some with a very appealing face and and a much more interesting personality by just walking down my street. That girl is such a joke.

i can't take her seriously because i don't follow her "career" nor do i care. in reality, she's just a typical teenager who has fits and temper tantrums, is very bratty, tries too hard to be an "original", and thinks the world revolves around her.

sure, i was the same way 10 years ago and i'm anti-fur as well, but really, there's no logical way to take her seriously. i look back at my actions and opinions (and my wardrobe and hair), and i just laugh (i'm laughing at charlotte a little bit too!).

Someone asked her on Tumblr about how it was like working with Francisco and she replied "He was nice at first but when I chucked a timy little thing at his arm he cried and made the make up artist hold ice to it for thirty minutes..****ing *****."

I wonder who this entry is about...
Ergh, so this model is boarding with me at the moment and boy is she trouble. Less than a week and everyone is arguing, bitching and pairing off yet before the devil child arrived everything was serene and everyone friends. If i was to elaborate i'd begin by saying this, i met the model when i was first working and thought nothing more of her until we realized we both had similar castings, she'd start off by asking enviously what kind of castings i had and if it was a good brand like Hermes she'd just 'come along' or in another case she casually asked every girl how many jobs they had, what kind of money they made and which agency was good - to the point that it was just rude.
Shes quite blunt making her funny but when a person is angry and you tell them to 'calm down' in a patronising tone, it doesn't really work. Or she'll pair off with your friend and leave you in the lurge and then ask why your upset? maybe because you've ruined the entire group and my good friend is now yours because you've stolen her just like a school girl would? the irony is i figured this would happen before the first night, i knew she would do this and now its too late. Its so frustrating because its only the beginning, she'll infect everyone just like she always does which explains why she doesn't keep in contact with any of her other friends from the other model apartments. I would love to tell the bookers to move her out but sadly being 'evil' doesn't quite qualify as a good reason to tell a girl to **** off. I wish my friend Shelley could see what a evil witch this girl is... the first week she is a sweetheart, the second week she's a annoying b*tch and the third week she's stolen your jobs, kissed your boyfriend and given you a piece of poison pie. Hate to be dramatic but **** that, i'm moving out!

^yay, finally something new!

but this looks more like an excerpt from tyra's silly book.

^That could be easily presented in a positive light to her. Not sure about the 'no flash only' demands, but the bit about having her own area and not letting people in is probably because she was pumping breast milk.

True or not, I actually don't find that a very spectacular demand. I remember Milla Jovovich said in an interview once (Vs. 2009) that she'd lost an ad campaign for Mugler because of some candids they had seen of her pregnant and having gained weight in 2007. When your appearance is the product you're selling and you are that powerful in the business, I would absolutely always try to control what's being put out in the press to the greatest extent that I could (without taking legal measures) if it was me.
