Model Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

I think there may be something to that. I've not only had the problem myself, but have heard many times that people I know (other Australians) have been considered rude or just basically not 'understood' when in other countries, and these aren't rude people (at least not the definition of rude that I know). It's weird.

I'm not Australian and have heard that before, but what Catherine did didn't really seem like she tried at all. I'm assuming that by headlining that Karlie Kloss and Cat Mcneil was going to be there, they were expected to host and at least make good on at least being polite with the crowd, which Karlie did in the end. It's one thing to not be a talkative person, and another to ignore everyone around you it's expected you would be there.

But that's my opinion.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the deal with Jade Gotchers mother. People don't have anything against Jade but people were "surprised" that she signed with IMG considering how her Mom behaves.

Her mum is hautecouture at fashist... not sure if the posts are all still up there, but there was some serious bitching about Ford, Jade's previous agency.

No, I agree :flower: from that account of the event it doesn't sound like she tried as she would've been expected to. I'm not going to defend her for that.

I just think that it's possible that some of her 98%-of-the-time-rudeness could possibly be attributed to culture differences, as I've experienced, and known others to experience the same perception before.

Who knows though. I've heard from people, that have worked with her in Aus, say she was great... these second-hand accounts that often seem to be taken as gospel (since most of the time we don't really have much else to go on) can really go either way.

I agree being silent in a shy way would be diffirent but not taking your role as a host and being talkative, making the girls feel comfortable and welcomed because she thinks shes above everyone to talk with apparently is somthing rather not having manners and shows lack of class and a background of low culture.

Think Enchanted, where Gisele expects everyone to be nice but they're not "nice" because it's NYC:lol:

There's nothing with paying attention to Aussie fashion week:rolleyes:

Back to Catherine being "rude," she obviously wasn't carrying out her duties as well as Karlie, but comparing Karlie and Cat doesn't really seem fair. Pairing them up doesn't seem like a very wise decision in the first place. Cultural differences aside, there's also a huge age difference, and Catherine probably wanted to come off as a more mature (less sugary sweet and assessable) one.

whats that suppose 2 mean??

back onto catmac- her and karlie look very different. and they have very different looks. and catmac is prob more mature

^Nothing, you just seem very insistent that you don't pay attention to Australian Fashion Week. No one's judging you if you do.

well i dont like aussie fashion, but i didnt want to seem like someone who is really into aussie fashion since its so crap

I agree, sometimes cultural differences can be misconstrued as rudeness, although Americans don't typically think Aussies rude so maybe now:ermm:

On the other hand, I have a hard time picturing biker chick Catherine playing nice & sweet with a bunch of model wannabes:lol:

Doesn't every top model start out somewhere as a model wannabe? All it takes is one persons encouraging word or action to make that wannabe take it a step further. ;)

Those are really nice encouriging words Model Mom, I think sometimes the bizz looks down on people who try, calling them wanna bees.

I have no doubt Catherine was very nice early in her career, no one is disputing that Bianca. It appears after she had her first brush with greatness and all the sycophantic rumblings that came along with it, she changed into a bit of a. . .terror? It's too strong, but really quite conceited. I'm not even sure that's the weird. Indulgent? Expectant? These are recent reports and people change very quickly. Some people cannot handle so much adoration before they pop into snotty self-obsessed hags.

I'd be the most ginormous jerk if I was surrounded by that many compliments. Tell me more, feed me more compliments, now, now. It'd be atrocious how rude I'd be. I recognize that! Hah!

^thank you Knighley for that insightful, eloquent and edifying comment. Your absolutely first class contribution to this thread have made you the undoubted Queen of the fashion spot, with a cult following enjoyed only by the like of Madonna. But really, I think you should be more worshiped than Madonna. What does Madonna knows about models? What blind item has she posted here? How does she compare to you?
No really, you are greater that Madonna, and I humbly declare myself your biggest fan.
HEIL KNIGHLEY!
