Model Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

^Whoever calls a person n-er can't be exactly race-friendly, don't you think?

What she wrote on her blog was stupid, no doubt about that. But aren't you people being quite judgmental about her without knowing her as well? I don't think it's any better to judge a young woman by one line in her internet-blog than judging anyone by their skin color. It's both unneccessary and immature, IMO. Leave the girl alone, I find it quite hypocritical to think hating on her for saying the n-word is OK yet she has no right to insult a person who scared the sh*t out of her?

Oh, so you're saying it's okay to insult a girl racially just because she scared her!?

**edted***

Please.

^Nope, you misunderstood. I didn't say she has every right to make racist remarks. I said it's hypocritical to think it's justified to attack a girl for one stupid remark. If you can all call her a "racist b*tch" then she can call a black woman whatever she called her all she wants. But it's both wrong in my opinion.

That's just the impression you get from her, so no, I still don't think you are allowed to call her a racist b*tch. All I see is a flamboyant girl who obviously didn't pick out her words careful enough, but be the bigger person and don't do the same.

Fair enough :flower: Hopefully she'll change her demeanor before it's too late.

We are not saying it is the right thing to do but we understand where she's coming from. That's all. We don't approve of it, be we understand why she did it. And I'm sorry but wouldn't you be scared or at least feel bad if they were waving a knife at you? You do not know what it is unless you've been put into that situation.

^Of course, who wouldn't? But I wouldn't call a person a n-er because of that. In fact, I wouldn't call a person that even if that person killed osmebody - it's just plain wrong.

Oh right, I got your point.

Anyway, let's just hope that Theres apologizes and explains herself. I'd like to end this discussion here, since the subject has already been blown to its full extent. Let's just wait, shall we? :flower:

This is hardly the first stupid remark out of her mouth, browse back through this thread ;)

Your defense doesn't make sense to me -- this is not something stupid she stupid she spouted off in the heat of the moment when she felt threatened (which would still be just as bigoted and wrong), she went and took the time to write about it which requires a bit of thinking it through. Am I right?

Over it! The subject is a little over-blown.

Yes, but has she ever made racist remarks before?

And yes, of course writing requires thinking, but in my opinion it's probably because she was re-living that particular moment that she used these particular words. She reached the boiling point and she spewed all of her anger and stress from the past week out on paper. I still think the entry was posted in a fury of rage, but it's okay to think otherwise.

Did someone wave a knife at her or did she say it's typical of black people to threaten knife crime? The translation is not clear.

@HeatherAnne
Well I can't judge what her motivation was to post this on her blog. But all I know is that I used my internet journals for that sole reason - to rant about whatever was bugging me that very moment.
Anyways, again. I'm not saying what she did was OK, I just feel bad for the girl as this was blown way out of proportion. I've heard people say things that were way worse than this and from people I respect very much. I don't think using an inapproriate word once or twice means she's a bad person. We've all been there.
And yes I do remember the other blog posts people were discussing here. But I never understood the drama because of it, actually.

A lot of people in this thread are no better than her (much worse actually).

Wishing her career to take a hit, calling her b*tch etc. is just out of line. It's ok to critisize her (even necessary), but some members should really reevaluate their reaction to that blog post.

But that's the internet, I guess.

^Lol yeah you're right who cares when people are racist? It's not like racism has ever had any negative consequences in the past. But that's just ignorance, I guess.

The point is she could have just said woman, or black woman, but she took it that extra bit too far.

carmen_kass, I think someone waved a knife at her. But I don't have access to the original blog (I think the person who copied it took two different quotes from her blog (but from the same post) as they don't make sense together.. there's something missing in between) so I don't know.

As a lot of you on here, I find her comments very off-putting but the sad thing is that there are plenty of people working in the industry that share her views on people with different coloured skin :(
I don't think it would be such a big deal within the industry itself unlike in this thread.

Unless is become more public , then the industry would have to care.

she has indeed proven before that she is quite on the immature side and granted the post is offensive (despite it being a retort to being physically threatened) and shouldn't be condoned but this hating is starting to get a little sickening and has blown everything way out of proportion, all these disgustingly excited posts ganging up on her and wishing harm to her career.. goodness. i am actually starting to feel a little sorry for her; she has been very misunderstood. even if she has revealed a lot of what she might be like in her blog let's all just keep in mind that we all do not know her personally and that doesn't exactly make us excellent character judgments for her.

Very interesting point! The industry reflects how racist it is almost every fashion week. Asian models are faring better now than before however.

Put quite simply.......she should not have used THAT word, I have never used THAT word in a real life situation and would not post it on the internet either.
It is not even a word in my vocabulary.

It is wrong that she was spoken to aggressively (ignoring the knife issue which I cannot understand if it happened or not), she should not lose her job, she is more than likely not a racist........but she should still have not used THAT word, and hopefully she will show some maturity after this incident and think about what she says or writes in the future.

**edited*** Removing response to a post that was deleted.

anyway wow i'm amazed at how tactless that theres girl can be. her blog has gotten her into so much trouble she should just shut it down.

Moderator's Note:

This previous subject is understandably a sensitive one. We have removed the more inflamitory comments directed at the model and at other members. Most of you have expressed your opinions about it and we have allowed you to do so.

But now, we ask that you move on to another topic, another model ... this discussion is closed.

via COACD twitter: "Which model was sent home early for missing 2 shows & a dazed and confused editorial this weekend...xoxo"
