Model Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

^ I think it's a mistake from the dailymail. The girl arrested is called Svetlana Travis. Google her and you will see it's a different girl.
Zakharova is her middle name, so the idiot who wrote this article probably searched "svetlana zakharova instagram" to put more pics in his article, and now Svetlana the model is linked to this mess. I feel bad for her, because there are already people commenting on her pictures about her being in jail, probably coming from the dailymail article.

I've seen it now as well. Shouldn't laugh, but the comments on her latest image are a bit hilarious. DM should be cautioned for making such a silly mistake!

Is being insensitive and offensive the same thing? I think Kendall was a bit insensitive given the current world situation, but not offensive per se.

I don't get offended every time someone ignorant does something insensitive with no ill intent. If I did I couldn't function as a person.

Some comments are quite funny indeed
DM removed all links to her instagram in their article now...

you could look at it that way, but had she not worn a hijab, what would the response be? And actually I don't think she was being either insensitive or offensive. In fact, I find that she was being sensitive. She's in a Muslim region, and even though it's not required, it seems like she was respecting local customs.

It borders to the Middle East, so it is not like she thought Pakistan was in Africa.

I call Finland scandinavian all the time by mistake. Nobody ever got mad about it. * shrugs *

Of course I'm not bothered by this, but the ignorance is just funny because she's dating the guy, it's not someone random, lol. At some stage they must've spoken about his heritage, right? P

^The fact that random fangirls on the internet know her boyfriend better than she does has me in stitches (but it also scares me quite deeply tbqh).

Knowing he is from Pakistan is not the same as knowing Pakistan is not in the middle-east though.

Gigi is a pretty busy girl, I wouldn't be surprised if she does not have time to read every relationship contract in detail before she signs it. Honest mistake.

There are TONS of members on this forum who don't know the seasons differences between the North and South hemispheres, I'd bet good money that those slamming Gigi don't now either :P so I'm not going to give her a hard time for not knowing where exactly a region ends and the other start. Anyway, those people probably only know because they're die hard fans who also know his shoe size LOL

I feel like you're missing my point, Eizhowa. She's dating the guy. Don't couples talk about these sort of things? If you said to me 'I'm from Finland', I'd foolishly have followed it up with 'oh, I love Scandinavians', which would be the point where you'd probably have corrected me, right? It's all in the flow of conversation (basics, btw). Never be too convicted that what you know is in fact correct.

Indeed. I cannot believe that people can find an excuse for the fact that she does not know where her boyfriend comes from. I'm trying to decide what i find more incredible.

I misspelled my best friends surname after spending almost every day with her for a year. I never cared much about peoples names (what is in a name, after all?), I cared about the people. Maybe Gigi doesn't care which country is in which man made region of the world. I know I think geography is terribly boring and knowledge of it rarely is useful in everyday life (we have Google). Except to put people down for not being good at it. I see that happen all the time.

I just Googled Middle East map (because I too think Pakistan is a Middle Eastern country), and guess what? The first result showed that it is.

Eh, whatevs, my husband is half Iranian and I get confused on if Iran is in Asia or South Eastern Europe.

I talk about his heritage with him, just not geography.

I just Googled scandinavia and Finland is sometimes considered a part of Scandinavia... * mind blown * I guess it all depends on who gets to decide, doesn't it?

^ Yeah, when you said that, I was all 'What are you talking about, it's always been Scandinavia'
