Well, Naomi has always had this fame and on the one hand I understand Anna Wintour being furious because Naomi was late, but it was unnecessary for her to say this at an awards that is there to show support for black icons. Naomi could have apologized, since she was wrong first and continued to be wrong by giving such an unnecessary answer as Anna's introduction.

Let's see if this will have any consequences for her, I remember that a few years ago it was difficult to see Naomi in campaigns and Vogue, after she signed with DNA she became more in the spotlight again.

One thing is that I can never support Naomi the person even though I have admiration for the model.
Her mother Teresa persona isn’t fooling anyone except people from the US Black community maybe.

Her only saving grace is that people have an irrational hate for Anna and that overtime her rudeness has passed as Diva behavior.

It’s because of her rebranding that things ended up working out for her.
I know in Paris for example, people were tired of her diva behaviors. On top of being late, being rude to everyone but the designer is not a good look.
So yes, nobody wanted to work for her. I remember she came to Paris for some weird shows but that was it.

What really killed her at the time was that she was the only model to do that. Everybody got their ways but her, constant rudeness!

Elle Macpherson has revealed she has been secretly battling breast cancer, but is now in remission despite refusing chemotherapy against the advice of “32 doctors and experts”.

The supermodel was diagnosed seven years ago and underwent a lumpectomy but opted against further treatment which went against her “belief system”, instead relying on an “intuitive, heart-led holistic approach”.

“It was a shock, it was unexpected, it was confusing, it was daunting in so many ways and it really gave me an opportunity to dig deep in my inner sense to find a solution that worked for me,” she said in an interview with Women’s Weekly.

Macpherson, 60, underwent the procedure to remove a tumour at the time before being diagnosed with HER2 positive oestrogen receptive intraductal carcinoma. Her doctor recommended she undergo a mastectomy with radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy and breast reconstruction. However, she decided against the advice.

“I realised I was going to need my own truth, my belief system to support me through it,” she said.

She described her decision to go against traditional medicine as “a wonderful exercise in being true to myself, trusting myself and trusting the nature of my body and the course of action that I had chosen”.

In 2022, medical researchers at Yale found that those who used homeopathy and alternative remedies to treat cancer, were twice as likely to die from the disease.

The businesswoman who owns her own wellness brand, WelleCo, says she did not take the decision to decline chemotherapy lightly. However, she has been known to be vocal within the anti-vaccination community, having previously dated disgraced British doctor Andrew Wakefield.


Deliberating for several weeks, she explained that she sought advice from “32 doctors and experts” to make her decision. Finally going to a beach in Miami, she prayed and meditated to come to the conclusion.

She opted for an “intuitive, heart-led holistic approach” under the guidance of her primary doctor who specialises in integrative medicine. The alternative model uses a combination of lifestyle changes and therapies to treat and heal a person as a whole.

In her new self-titled book Elle: Life Lessons and Learning to Trust Yourself, she wrote it was the most difficult thing she has ever done in her life.

“Saying no to standard medical solutions was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. But saying no to my own inner sense would have been even harder,” she wrote. She later describes feeling that chemotherapy and surgery were “extreme”.

Renting a house in Phoenix, Arizona, for eight months, she said she spent the time alone, “focusing and devoting every single minute to healing myself”.

Her family were divided over her decision. She said her “more conventional” 19-year-old son “wasn’t comfortable with my choice at all”, meanwhile her 14-year-old son “thought that chemo kills you”. Their father, and her ex-husband Arki Busson had a mixed reaction, being “supportive” but Macpherson admits, “he didn’t agree with what I was doing”.

She remained under the care of several specialists, including her primary doctor, a doctor of naturopathy, holistic dentist, osteopath, chiropractor and two therapists.

“In traditional terms, they’d say I’m in clinical remission, but I would say I’m in utter wellness. And I am!” she said.

“Truly, from every perspective, every blood test, every scan, every imaging test … but also emotionally, spiritually and mentally – not only physically. It’s not only what your blood tests say, it’s how and why you are living your life on all levels.”

I hope other cancer patients don't follow her example. She was very lucky her immune system fought back and helped her go into remission. For the vast majority of patients, that won't happen. They will just die. She may think she's spreading some miracle health story and offering hope for other patients that there is an alternative to traditional medicine, but she's really pushing a fairy tale that will lead to unnecessary deaths and grief.

With all due disrespect, a lumpectomy is what if not standard modern medical treatment for cancer/some precancerous conditions? If she had a lumpectomy it means it was early stage cancer (literally sounds like it may have been stage 0) and a lumpectomy alone may be all that’s needed. Obviously I’m not a doctor and this is all speculation, but I think she’s being misleading. The mortality rate for such an early stage breast cancer is like… less than 1% and plenty of those very early stage patients don’t end up undergoing chemo, radiation, and hormone therapy. Hate that she’s spewing this sh!t because there is certainly truth to healthy habits and eating nutritious foods being helpful for patients and to reduce risk of ever being a patient (certain cancers can be linked to obesity - including breast cancer) and if she encouraged a holistic approach without dissing (often) necessary treatments it could’ve been a helpful message. But to act like she cured herself homeopathically when she did in fact get surgical treatment is ludicrous.

I think people are reading too much into the video, but they do or did have beef at one time. Rihanna dated Hassan Jameel after he and Naomi broke up.

Frankly, I don't think Naomi has friendships that aren't transactional. I think people put up with her because she's connected and her recent career renaissance made it mutually beneficial, but sooner or later that's going to go away. When it does, I think she could have a nice fallback career as a m*d*me, working with her BFF Mohammed Al Turki
