Model Casting F/W 08.09, Cruise 09

Is it just me, or does every half-decent little show pull together a rather impressive cast these days?...

I feel like it was just a few years ago that all these smaller Paris and Milan shows featured mostly unknown [new] faces? Now you see both neo-tops and upcoming stars walking these shows too...

Sometimes it's obviously a consequence of the designer becoming more established/hyped (as in the case of certain London designers), but it appears to be a general phenomenon...
 
Sentiment echoed precisely. She does have an eye infection, but still.

When I saw the VW cast, I was ecstatic, and then the MMM cast had me bouncing in my chair due to my two favourite models being in the same show.
 
ick, balenciaga usually has one of my favorite castings every season, but this season's casting was just blah to me. too many new girls...

I noticed that in New York.. it was crazy to see smaller shows being the new IT show and featuring almost only the big girls. I think maybe there are just too many new girls and everyone and their agency is vying for runway spots so these shows really get top pickings
 
After seeing Abbey Lee doing Gucci, Dior or Viktor & Rolf I have lost my faith in Casting directors definitively!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I thought she fit V&R and Gucci perfectly :huh: I love Abbey and I think she'd be great for Dior but this shows hair and make-up team made Abbey look like a gremlin/drag queen:doh:
 
Truth be told, I will never completely understand the hatred for Abbey Lee. It's as if one person has some lascivious piece of gossip about her, and suddenly she's this unholy force on the runways. I agree, she was a great fit for Gucci, and I was surprised to see how well she worked for Viktor & Rolf as well.

It's one thing to have a legitimate reason to dislike a model. However, it is a whole different story when you're simply upset that your favorites were not at every single show that Abbey was. :rolleyes:

Wrong simply I think Abbey is not a good model,..... sorry but u are very mistaken
 
^Fine, if that's the case then it does not need to be repeatedly addressed. I think we officially all understand that you do not care for her, and that her success on the runways displeases you. There's no need to continually bring it up:

You can take your distaste for Abbey Lee to the 'Models Whose Appeal You'll Never Get' thread from now on, because this is not the place to complain and bash one particular model over and over again.

So true, people really need to get over themselves and get with the program. You are not a model who can "do it better" than Abbey Lee and nor are you a casting director, she must be doing something right to have Gucci exclusive and be represented by a major New York agency, which thousands upon thousands of wannabe models don't have. I think before someone calls a model ugly they should consider how they'd look standing next to her, you'd quickly realise your inadequcies. The same goes for Agyness and Chanel. I think we need to be a little more curtious to models,some of them are only young school girls, I mean people were calling Tanya D. ugly when she was in the eigth grade, and that is appaling. They're just young girls navigating a tough industry the best way they can.

I'm saying this and I don't even like Abbey Lee that much, but seriously people need to stop, until you have a Gucci exclusive and have booked every major show in New York, maybe you should stop with the negativity. I'm glad there's new blood on the runway, last season was all Natasha and Raquel opening and closing everything. :flower:

Anywhore, is Olga having a slower season because she dyed her hair?

Thank you:flower: I completely agree, I was really surprised at all the Anti-Abbey Lee. She's far from my favourite, but she's having a fantastic season.
