Well, well things have certainly been interesting in the first few days of the show season, and castings have definitely ranged from exciting to expected and boring.
I suppose that Abbey Lee Kershaw is doing as well as was expected of her, though I think she's going to need to book a few more big shows before I'd call her a breakthrough.
I think that given her Vogue Italia cover for February, Kamila Filipcikova is really beginning to capitalize on her Marsh/Rafe/Miuccia/Meisel buzz from last season, and definitely appears to be one of the most in demand girls. The Brazilian triplets should probably move aside because last season's Prada darlings, Adina Forizs, Alana Kuznetsova, and Anna Gushina are certainly being booked (and who saw Gushina opening Proenza coming, because I certainly did not). Daria Strokous is holding her own though hardly as well as her other counterparts, but then again the season is still quite young. So where on earth is Diana Farkhullina? I think there are really only two choices at this point: either she's a CK exclusive, or she's a Marsh exclusive already for Prada.
Apparently Natasha Belebrevik is on hold for that supposedly lucrative Prada exclusive in Milan, but after being one of the few new faces at Proenza I think her stock is already on the rise. I guess that Kate Somers deserves a mention as she's been keeping it low key, but memorable thus far.
The team at Women have been fairly quite sans Georgina Stojikovic and Heloise Guerin (and to a lesser degree Lovisa Ingman), who seem to be carrying their board at this point. I still think that the last minute additions of Kateryna Fedorchuk and Valeria Dmitrienko are being saved for something down the road, as they have yet to appear anywhere.
I'm also posing the question as to where Michaela Majerska went. In her thread it was mentioned that she left the country to go home, but it could mean she has something bigger coming Europe. This wouldn't surprise me, but it does seem unlikely.
Anyhow, it's all kind of up in the air at this point, as Proenza has been the only 'big' show, in regards to casting, thus far.
