Everything behind the scenes seems to be a lot more interesting these days than what's going on the dull runways of NY. That is until the Calvin unspooled. You don't expect revolutionary clothes at Calvin but the house just hit us with a 95% black collection . They usually party like its 1999 (think greige) on those premises and you have to find that admirable. But something interesting and surprising and symbolic happened with the line-up. For instance there was a certain sleek African beauty (Liya) flitting among the racks . The big names got stripped down to Lily D and Freja. Some of the most enviable of new girls were there (Malin, Diana F, Taryn, Abbey Lee, Siri) . And Camilla Nickerson instituted a big big change in the line-up by opening with Ali Stephens while closing with Toni Garrn. Very diplomatic no? ...On the other side of town (and the other side of aesthetic tastes) TI takes back the report on the state of serenity at Marc Collection. Outfits are literally being built even as we speak, girls are being called to go-sees at midnight and Marc is stirring it all up with characteristic passion. Our hissers overhead a conversation that one of the inspirations for Mr Jacobs was a photograph of a 20's woman in a strange skirt playing tennis. How the hell will that translate I simply don't know. Especially when looks are still being built...Headed over now to the Rad, the looks are locked, the girls are being fitted and our mysterious new exclusive, a fresh faced newcomer just landed her NY agency. Stay tuned for the unveiling later this afternoon when this post expands to full form

BUT MOSTLY. Ali is opening and Toni is closing? Change that order. ;_; I am tired of Ali Stephens. People keep blaming her photographers and such for how bad she looks, but it's time to stop blaming everyone except for the one consistent in all the photos: her. ;

Well at least we have confirmation that Diana Farkhullina is on exclusive with CK! Though, I'm beyond elated to know that the usual Poly, Snejana, Sasha, Vlada domination of blondes may finally give way to a group of newer faces!

Malin Ones is an excellent choice for CK as well!

Oh wow Rad is today?! I was trying to figure out when it was...I wonder who'll show up there, I mean he is supposed to be all "the hottest new designer of the season" and whatnot.

I'm sure some of the Mode girls will be there like Meghan and Julia, hopefully Heather, probably that really skinny girl with Supreme/Mode...is her name Katrina?

And indeed iximisspiggyixi, Katriina Okane has been pretty much absent from the shows I saw her at one show I think) while all the buzz was around her at MDC and such...so she's bound to land some sort of big show.

I'm not sure if this is true, but there was a rumor before the Tommy Hilfiger show some nepotism would show and my favorite troll offspring aka Ally Hilfiger would be walking daddy's show.

Does anyone know for sure y/n? If so, I'd say worst casting mistake of the entire season. Comfortably. Even though Milan, Paris, and London haven't happened.

"on hold" for prada exclusive so yes technically the same as "in the running." I was canceled an hour before the show which is actually a common practice. A majority of new girls who the casting director Marsh (who handles prada's) picks up are put "on hold" for prada from what I'm told

Is it possible that Julia Stegner skips New York (or even the whole season)? do youknow something Faith?

I have asked a few so far and no one really knows anything pertaining to her absence. Sorry, my best guess is that she's working instead? Many seem to be sliding print work in this fashion week

What happened at CK though?. Could it be that Mr Marsh put all the great girls on lock before CK could get their hands on them?. I mean Diana debuted this couture season and Ali has been a Prada exclusive already.

It's weird, because there were new girls who seemed to be on hold for it - they were absent from NY fashion week until yesterday or so - i.e Natalia S (who still appeared at CK regardless), Kateryna Fedorchuck, and I think a couple more. They could have easily chosen to have Natalia S for their own... but for some reason they didn't. Who knows.

But Balenciaga and Chanel are also common for giving cancellation with little warning. I could never be a model. I'd be a wreck. !
