Ida: I hate when that happens. I'm at work the whole day so if no one from my family is home when the postman comes I always have to pick up my parcels from the post office. And the post office closes at like 5 PM!

Fortunately I have the next two weeks off, so I shouldn't be complaining, but I never have the time to pick up the stuff. I HATE getting a note where they say they've tried to deliver the stuff, and you've been home all day, and you KNOW it isn't true... Argh

I'm sorry, I'm new here. What exactly do you mean? Where I got the photo's from? The last one is from Nitrolicious (the photo tells) and the first one is from http://forum.ellegirl.nl You can edit my post if you like, cause I don't exactly get what you mean.

i think the H&M's in europe and america have completely different sales strategies.

in the US, older stuff tends to "disapear" from the racks. i think it is put into storage and new stuff goes out on the racks. this forces shoppers that were were thinking about buying older item to buy the new items that are out at full price instead.

in my local stores there is "old" stuff out on the racks for sale at 50% off. stuff that i havent seen for months and months...

does anyone else notice this?

i think this is dishonest, it makes the buyer think that the item they originally wanted is "sold out". retailers like target do not do this. this is why i prefer to get a lot of my clothes at target.

Maybe, they do have different strategies. In DK and from what I have been told (I worked 8 months in H&M), they usually don't have stock rooms or at least very small ones, which are more for excess goods like accessories etc.

But honestly, even if they did, I don't find it dishonest at all. H&M get new stuff every single week. They work with fast fashion. If they don't get their stuff sold, there isn't room for the new stuff, which they must have. That is why H&Ms racks tend to be overstuffed with clothes sometimes (when they just got new clothes), because they don't have stock rooms and they haven't sold the old stuff. If they did hide the old stuff away, I don't see the problem. They don't do to stop their customers from buying old clothes, but they work with fast (and cheap) fashion, which means if a customer want something, they'll have to buy it quick. That is their concept. How are they supposed to keep up with the trends, if they don't get new clothes all the time? If you didn't buy when you had the chance, then it's your loss, you can't blame the store for needing to change what they have on the racks!

Regarding the Holiday line (with the leather pieces) is it only in select countries? I haven't been able to find it in Hong Kong

Also should I keep this dress? It was about US$80. It's quite a thick black material, 3/4 sleeves, nipped in waist and the skirt is slightly flared and pleated, and it has a crew neck. I like it, but I'm not sure if it suits me or that it's too plain (my boyfriend said it looks like something Wednesday Addams would wear...)

It's a skater dress, and yes you could keep it, your boyfriend is clearly clueless about what makes a good dress. Just because something is black doesn't make it goth! Also, you have fabulous legs, wear some chunky heels and enjoy!
