The Skinny Jean Scene #1

Alright guys and gals, I need help! I cannot find a good pair of skinny jeans for $150 or less that fit me right. I've tried gap, old navy( I know, I was desperate), levis, Express, holister, etc. The waist of size 2's fit but the legs are too baggy. I want the legs to fit a la Kate Moss. The 0's waist is too small. I also want the lowest rise out there, and a nice tiny leg opening. Any thoughts? I want a vintagey blue wash, not too dark, but not too light. Its all so complicated!

I think it would be worth the extra 30-45 dollars to get the amazing siwy or superfine kate wears. I really think the lower end brands are always so large in the knee and calf ( mass market) or you can go to Urban Outfitters.

hey i neeed help too. i'm looking for a pair of black skinnies that fit like a glove. should i just go with cheap mondays? i've also been looking at the ksubi skinny zips because i know my size in ksubis and can order those online. but i'm scared they might be too long since i'm only 5'4" and i can't alter the length.

please recommend me something! black skinnies!

I think Cheap Mondays is a good cheap jeans.. If you want to spend about 50$ on jeans.
They got great black washes too. I just recently got one with cropped leg, so the length of the jeans is only 30 inches. I love them!

BohoBelle yes she does; i think they are the best brand for skinny jeans
nylonbits cheap mondays look good, but the black ones are not of a very good quality, in my opinion. the color tend to fade when you wash them - mine is almost dark grey now  for something around the same price try april 77 maybe

depends on the style of the jeans. I have few that have faded, few that are more shiny material that havent.

Also you could try Whyred. I have them and the color hasnt faded even though I wash them often.

i didn't know whyred, sounds nice! i hope they ship to france

thanks for the recommendations miss6o and aliethegreat

i dont mind paying a bit more for the jeans though. i'm just having trouble finding plain black jeans because the higher end brands all seem to have some type of wash to them.

boho belle, i have a lot of siwy jeans and i think they fit how they should. some of them are very tight at first, but definitely can get into them, then they just seem to mold to my body shape. the superfine one's are nice, but i think the washes sometimes look like h&m jeans.
i guess it depends on the wash of the jeans for siwy. if you wanted a basic blue, the wonder wash is my very favorite weekend jeans. it is the one that you always see rachel bilson and sienna miller wearing. i think if you are ordering them on line, most online stores will be able to help you with fit sizes. someone posted on here that they contacted the siwy myspace and helped with the sizes. so you might want to try that too.
it's good to know that they are quite a staple. everyone tried flares, but no one is making the right shoes. they make my hips fat.

I have some Genetic Denim black skinnies, which I have been wearing for over a year. They are amazing. Still black, and they are the softest fabric, almost feel like leggings.

Anyone know where I can get Siwy online? I've checked all of the sites listed at the Siwy site and nothing

nylonbits, I see you're in Montreal. Have you tried local brand, Moto? I just got a pair of black skinnies a few weeks ago at Simons for $45 (I think. Definitely under 50)

black skinny jeans w/o distressing:

april 77 are 2x the price of cheap mondays here in the US...not to mention that CM Tight OD go on sale very often for ~30$. also CMs Tight and Narrow are skinnier than a77 cuts...but the A77 joey cut is perfect imo...as well as whyred dee. denimbirds makes a really soft and comfortable black skinny highwaist. nudie also do black washes, black raw, and black coated in skinny cuts and go on sale more often than a77.

...the black jeans i'm definitely on the hunt for are Acne Hex in Cash (a coated black) @ <150$ and discontinued April 77 black dischords, but April 77 black colordrives are the best in their price range of 150USD...not to mention they're not overdyed so they will fade nicely. i just wish they'd go on sale rather than consistently selling out. :]

yes. how could i forget that.... i've simply ignored simons for a long while and refused to shop there. LOL. i guess i'll go have a look on a weekday, preferably when the entire store is empty. thanks for the recommendation ^_^

the Acne Hex in Cash are on sale @ standardstyle for $99.50!!!! but i'm not sure if they have your size...
do you know where to get april 77's online? the only places i found them were sevennewyork.com and yoox, but they don't have what i'm looking for :(

Quality wise I can't get enough of my Superfine and Frankie B's...

I personally love the Skinny Jean scene and hope that it never ends... :p

have any of you guys looking for jeans tried J Brand?
perfectly plain black, no wash to them whatsoever and an amazing fit.
also for bohobelle you wanted them to stay firm and have a nice small ankle I would get J brands and get the size down as they do seem to run a bit bigger through the waist (but nowhere else!) and so they will be verrrry firm through the legs and good in the waist and of course the 10 inch ankle they do is the skinniest on the market - you can pick them up at www.revolveclothing.com pretty cheap. by far best jeans ive ever bought.
