well siwy does a 10" leg opening too. they have had black in the line, since i purchased in spring 05 at harvey nichols in the UK. that is an american brand too.

lostinemotion - really? thats so cool to know, I love siwy but it is basically impossible to get here and hardly anyone stocks the range online - well they do but only one or two styles and not the nice or new ones - do you know of any good online shops that sell siwy? would love to see these 10 inch legs.

did you try asos.com?
I am not sure what country you are in, but they have great customer service.

I have an hourglass shape (but am fairly thin, size 2) and feel okay in straight legs and skinnies WITH heels on...but do you think it would look bad if I wore flats? do you think only more ruler type bodies can wear flats with their skinnies, any tips on pulling it off? (FYI, im only 5'6 so my legs aren't that long)

i think you can do it babypink.
i'm the same shape as you and i wear flats all the time.
granted, i don't wear half shirts
i also am careful to not wear babydolls too. i think it can make our types look like maternity wear.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it in this thread, but I like the combination of skinny jeans with cute ballet flats or skimmers. You can also dress up skinny jeans quite well with a nice pair of pumps. I'd recommend comfortable low-heel pumps or even high-heel pumps. I have no problem with wedges, but I haven't seen a combination that pairs skinny jeans with wedge pumps and shoes. A peep-toe design for the pumps is optional for you ladies that like peep-toes.

I now have an off-topic observation to share. I have a Spiegel holiday gift guide from 2001. A two-page display shown a woman wearing a V-Neck cardigan, skinny or slim jeans, and (I'm assuming) knee-high boots. Not a lot of women were as crazy about tucking jeans into boots as now, but I could imagine the model wearing the boots over the jeans since the proportions of the skinny/slim jean legs and the leather boots would offer a slimmer look by wearing the boots over the jeans. I've grown a little more understanding of tucking jeans into boots as far as it being fashionable. It provides a slimmer look from the waist down. I still don't like it as a fashion trend, but I just wanted to make that observation to close this post.

Yes John! Work! I LOVE tucking my jean into a stacked boot, and yes I am a male. LOL. The Marc Jacob rain boots and a Cheap Monday skinny jean, the combination is heaven for me. I get the craziest looks from my community, "WHAT IS THAT BOY WEARING," but whatever, I love it. I really want to try different types of boots. I saw this guy as I was walking to the train station with ankle boots, they were Dior Homme-esque, and he looked great.

i think skinny and platform look good on mary kate, but that is it. maybe nicole richie too.
when i say platform, i mean more like ysl rather than vintage gogo girl.
in that case, i think you need to be on the slim side.

the Acne Hex in Cash are on sale @ standardstyle for $99.50!!!! but i'm not sure if they have your size...
do you know where to get april 77's online? the only places i found them were sevennewyork.com and yoox, but they don't have what i'm looking for :(

got those acnes for 50$ on sale locally...haha, thanks for mentioning them otherwise i wouldn't've searched for sales on acne yesterday. ^_^ anyway, after getting these i'm pretty sure now that A77 black colordrives are the best skinny black jeans...especially for the price if yer going for either retail. :flower:

^$50?!!! lucky!! unfortunately not many shops in montreal sell acne jeans. i got a pair of straight leg ones 3 years ago..on sale..it was still $200CAD :(

in the us, unless your really into fashion, they don't get the designer jeans thing in the outskirts of the US.
i always find below wholesale costs when I go to places like the woods of florida or indiana.

I recommend J Brand. The fit is excellent and the denim is stretchy and very soft. They have really gorgeous black and deep blue colors.

Also, April 77s if you have the cash to spare. The quality is amazing and they come in numerous colors such as yellow, violet, zebra striped, aqua, etc.. The fit is nice and generally come in higher rises which is very nice.

i thought april 77 was same price as cheap mondays?

crakk- it's true! :-) they just don't know what time it is in the outskirts.
god, us new yorkers and angelenos are so on it

Over here in the US, Cheap Mondays are around the $50-$90 range where as April 77s are found to be $150+.

But the quality between the two jeans are very different. Cheap Mondays are good quality but nothing compared to April 77s especially talking in terms of raw denim.
