Thigh High / Over the Knee Boots

I saw a great pair of Stella McCartney thigh-highs in taupe on the Bergdorf Goodman site yesterday. They were waaay on sale, but they weren't in my size.

i love this trend
i noticed them first(well the 1s i liked)
at Stella McCartney FW 09 i just thought
they looked extremely sexy

love it. i think thigh high boots are the
epitome of chic.

The Isabel Marant and embellished Stella boots are both divine. I want!!

i adore the ones from the rodarte show, the nicholas kirkwood ones! they are soooo cool.. kill for themm

In my opinion, some of those boots should be left for the stage costume of the Pussycat Dolls.

...but some are just...genius. :flower:

I think it was Fendi who launched this trend fall/winter 2008, but you also could claim it was Balenciaga back in 2003...

To me, they look so great on the runway, but if I were to ever try them in real life... one word: ******.

Well I would say that even with an untrained eye you should be able to spot a huge stylistic difference between fetish / ****** boots and those of Chloe, Pucci and alikes.

Thigh high boots: A practical experiment by Claire Coleman

Claire Coleman takes on the new fall trend. She bought a new pair of thigh high boots and walked the street in them and here's what she experienced:

Thigh high boots: dear to wear them

Is the claire coleman article topic of discussion there, or just the boots?

I meant this thread to be more about the experiment, rather than the thigh high boots itself. It's the perception part that I find interesting.

It's an intricate situation: A new trend with obvious odds. How many people will fight those and be fashionably embracing this trend and how many will be fended off by the negative associations? How many positive reactions are needed to outweigh one remark in the fashion of 'ow much, doll? Will people be able to see the difference between typicly hookerish boots and the more stylish ones? Will people get used to seeing them at all?

well, how would you react if you saw a woman wearing them, embrace?

i want to get some. im not sure i would receive a marriage proposal like coleman did.

i imagine wearing it with a super fitted "mans shirt" style shirt and a wide belt.
