I'm bummed that my faves, England and Italy, are meeting in the quarter finals

The biggest upset would be England progressing IMO. I don't see them beating the Italians if they continue to play like they have so far. Gerrard is only one man and he can only do so much. I don't understand why Hodgson insists on playing Milner, he's been atrocious every time he's played; but I guess with Rooney back it's a somewhat plus. We'll see on Sunday what will happen. But my bet is on a Germany - Spain final.

I still think Spain is the better team, but they haven't been demolishing the oposition like in previous games.

I don't think Portugal is going to have problems to get rid of the Czech Republic. B)

is what i stated a while back.

france has a decent team
but i dont think they have what it takes to beat spain
nor portugal once they advance.

the only thing spain lacks is a great attack.
otherwise they would be demolishing teams.
they need messi! jajaja

seriously, xavi and iniesta need a class striker to finish the job.
they can pass the ball around all they want, control it, but in the end
they need someone to score. defense is not solid, but they have casillas. the midfield is the best in the world, they just need proper strikers.

the italians are too old, too dependent on Pirlo to do everything for them.
england has been boring to watch.
germans will reach the finals.

then things will get interesting.

as long as Italy doesn't get into the next round i'm happy well, and as long as Germany will beat Greece...i don't think we should under-estimate them, underdogs can be very strong simply because they often have more drive.

i hope Czech Republic will win tonight, Portugal didn't impress me at all in their previous games

It will most probably be Spain versus Germany in the finals thanks to the wish of Platini

I am rooting right now for the following to pass:
- Portugal (Portugal/Czech Republic)
- Spain (Spain/France)
- Germany (Germany/Greece)
- England (England/Italy)

so the next round would be:

- Portugal vs. Germany
- Spain vs. England

____ Greece and Italy don't deserve to get to the next round imo

__My favourites would be obviously Spain but I would also be rooting for England...so that's quite tricky

I cannot see the Portugal team beating the German team - the German team really seems very solid and I did not like them in 2010 at all and was a big no-no-basher of the German team until this year but they sort of grew on me and they are likeable, well, at least besides Müller and Neuer - I don't know why, but these 2 rub me the wrong way...
but there are unlikeable and likeable "personalities" or at least seemingly characteristics I like or dislike among all teams ( Robben, Ronaldo, Busquets, Ibrahimovic... Iniesta, Pirlo, Benzema, Casillas....)- and to be honest, I don't know any of them personally so it comes down to impressions one gets and as we know that is always very subjective
