Considering the fact that the game lasted more than 120 min. You can't really argument...

Spain stepped up their game during those last 30 mins but both teams were quite even during the regular 90 mins.

I can't stand Ronaldo and his ego. Waiting to score the fifth penalty just to be "king" (thank god it backfired).. making every free kick into a freaking melodrama.. and ofcourse his usual crybaby, spoiled attitude.

His tears are my joy to be fair

ETA: Spain is Sh*t without Villa and Ramos lost his sex appeal when he cut his hair

As much as I like Sergio Ramos yes he played dirty. I admire him for shooting the penalty tonight after all the sh*t people gave him after his infamous penalty against the Bayern.
I feel sad for the Portugal because they were great tonight.

I´m very surprised at Pepe and his fair game, usually he´s the dirtiest of them all...

If I remember correctly Ronaldo also failed to score his penalty against Bayern and now he didn´t shoot at all... I can´t wait to read the papers tomorrow.

Like France, today Portugal drown in a glass of water. It was their match for the taking, the best game of Portugal in a while. I don't really blame Ronaldo for the "penalty that never happened" but for missing that last chance at the end of regulation, he could've made a cut to his right and scored easily, Pique was covering him for crying out loud. I think Spain has been extremely lucky thus far and whoevers reaches the final Germany or Italy, I think are gonna be favorites over Spain.

Im excited about tomorrow, it's gonna be a historic game IMO. B)
So prepare your DVR's. ^_^

i really, really dont get all the hate to spain. i mean why? no one hate barca for been the best? SMH

btw, did anyone notice how shaky the referee was tonight? He was swinging yellow cards right and left..

I was afraid it was going to turn into another one of these (which btw is one of the funniest matches I've ever seen):

As much as I love Spain, they weren't playing so well today. Really had a hard time creating chances. They miss a good striker like Villa. Pedro is really awesome by the way and he should get to play much much more often. To me, he is like the Spanish version of Messi if he can improve a tad.

That being said: FORZA ITALIA tomorrow!!!! WOOT WOOT. :woot: I know it wont be an easy game for Italy as Germany are not planning to give any space for Pirlo. Also hopefully De Rossi and Chiellini are fit for tomorrow's game!!! Looking forward for that game and hoping Italy will once again upset Germany!

The camera panning to Ronaldo during the penalty shots were priceless. He's a mess. I'm happy for Spain, it makes me nervous for Germany though!

uh
they do hate barcelona for being the best:rolleyes:

and messi too.
can't see why you would hate messi
he is magic, each time he touches the ball you hold your breath to see what he will do. and he his humble too! not this " i am the best, second best, and third best player in the world" BS

but they hate him too, can't understand it.

pedro is good, but he was better three years ago.
he is in a slump
they really need the lion king, Llorente.

against the germans they are going to need to score.
seriously. the italians.....
the germans will take care of that.
and probably beat spain too.

del bosque needs to get my memo

I don't get it either. I know some people don't want them to win because they've been the champions for the past 4 years already, but if they win again it's because they work hard and deserve it. You don't get to be the reigning champions of two major tournaments by luck. You get it by being the best team in the world and so far they're the ones to beat.

^and they never were football royalty like eg Italy, they´ve been enjoying the success that brought hard work only recently. I guess that people want the underdog to win but then they resent them for it? LOL

I don't know a single person who hates Messi , cannot say the same for the Spanish tactic though.

Their Tiki-taka is KILLING ME and puts everyone else to a good night sleep. I don't care if it works for them, I could never be a fan of that kind of football!
(I understand Spanish people cheering for their country, but I cannot figure out how their play appeals to the rest of the world.)

Tonight you could see the audience's dissatisfaction throughout the entire game.
I also don't see how you can hate on Ronaldo's personality and be obviously blind to what the Spanish are doing. Imagine paying for a ticket and then watching these lads kick the ball to each other just to lose time. Is that what you're paying for? Is that fun? Is that the purpose of football? Why don't we just cut the 90 minutes to 10 then... Ronaldo is at least putting his soul and mind into every one of his games.

Thank God for exceptions like Iniesta but if someone ever invited me to their game, I'd rather pass.

^I hate Messi LOL
not hate-hate (at least not anymore) but he makes me mad when he doesn´t seem to try as hard when playing for Argentina as he does in Barcelona. :P

Germans are afraid of spanish? Really?

not really, at least not yet. Italy is our next opponent and that's our main focus for now. and when Italy defeated us in the last minute in 2006, that was quite traumatic, since it was at the worldcup in Germany and the final was in our grasp. the losses against Spain weren't as traumatic, they were clearly the better team and it didn't happen at home.

of course people ask our coaches and players about Spain as they're yet again very strong and we could meet them again (when we're lucky) and you need a good tactic to win against them, but the game against Italy is more emotional.

I don't think it's simply because he doesn't try as hard. The Argentine midfield is not the same as the Barca midfield! Miles and miles away. Yes, I am a Messi fan, able to himself break down defence barriers. If Spain had him in their team, they would have a lot more goals. I am kind of worried for Spain because they have so much trouble finding the net.

Oh and it seems Pirlo paid hommage to Ramos' Panenka it seems :

^no, of course it´s not the same and I don´t expect him to play the same as he does in Barcelona or score every time but I disagree that he doesn´t try as hard. At one point I thought that maybe Barcelona told him to be careful and not risk an injury...
as we say in Argentina, "no le pone los mismo huevos" LOL
