US Vogue February 2009 : Blake Lively by Mario Testino

It's a great cover but why her? I don't get it. She has no fashion sense. at all. It takes established actress like Anne Hathaway and Kate Bosworth years to get a Vogue cover and she gets one because of a guilty pleasure television show?

For US Vogue this is a step up I think. I'm wondering just how I'm going to airbrush out that text but other than that I'm pleased.

That said, instead of photoshopping Blake Lively to look like January Jones they could have just put Jan on the cover :innocent:

But I'm not going to complain too much given that we've gotten actual newish people on the cover now for two months in a row.

Blake might not deserve the cover but she looks lovely indeed. Beautiful girl!

Ugh, the cereal box banner. Not cool.

I am interested in the article about Paul Newman...but this isn't looking great. SO much Photoshop.

ROFL did you just say cereal box? I love it.

Now I'm imagining opening up my Vogue and finding a special prize inside.

:ninja: banner looks awful as usual
i really like the styling, and the cover shot is nice

I'm also imagining just how this cover would be described on the show.

Gossip Girl here,

Attention Upper East siders, which reformed bad girl back from the brink has just joined the fashion status quo? Its seems our favorite poor little rich girl has usurped Queen Bee and grabbed the attention of the infamous Prada clad devil. What does this spell for the future - and for the reformed friendship of two very well heeled it girls? Only time and Lil' J will tell.

You know you love me.

xoxo

Gossip Girl

I'm having too much fun with this.

"magical makeover" indeed:

That cover looks ace, and after - finally - reading the December cover from page to page I'm not going to complain about US Vogue at the moment, because it reminded me there's always tons more content inside that we never take into account.

The cover's glam, it's sunny, it's upbeat - designed to make people happy, a bit of escapism, just like they get from the TV when they watch Gossip Girls.

I quite like this cover, Blake looks classy... she should wear dresses like this more often! They suit her.

I think its such a cheap trick to post candids and compare to the photoshoots, specially a bad paprazzi shot like that where she is smiling, why are people so malicious when it comes to this girl is beyond me.I'm faar from being a fan, but its ridiclous and childish.

You know why and her name rhymes with Leighton Meester....
:innocent::lol:

 just kidding

^that's not a paparazzi shot, it's from a press tour. in any case, everyone's entitled to their opinion, i'm just agreeing with vogue in that blake certainly has transformed herself over the past few years.

I still don't understand why they felt the need to put an actress on a teenshow on the cover though

Me neither...

The cover is beautiful...

But I'd rather see Alexis Bledel on the cover, if they were going the teen show route...
