I've always loved this collection because it was a real statement. Yes, there was a bit of Balenciaga or maybe Balmain but much more because it was the aesthetic of the time than a real copy.
While the hair/make-up & shoes was a bit try-to-hard, the craftmanship of those clothes is kinda exceptional. Looking back in times, this is maybe their most ambitious collection in terms of construction. Plus, the clothes were very "classic" Valentino with a twist. It's just a pity the presentation killed that moment.
