Major improvement from last year’s show. Last year’s minimalist approach didn’t work for a brand as campy as VS.

It was almost impecably coreographed. And the few mistakes added a necessary sense of reality I guess.

I think Adam Selman did a good revamp when it comes to design. The styling was nice, bar the PINK segment (probably the styling team had zero interest in working with influencers and here’s the result).

I didn’t hate the idea of this type of cast for PINK though. It does makes sense for their target… but they need to put way more effort in it because it looked like a mall show.

With the budget they spend in celebrities… they should spend that money in creating wings that are not as heavy and uncomfortable…

I think the models were fantastic.

The more risqué and revealing pieces are a nice addition, the show is not on TV anymore so the design team should work with more freedom from now on…

The music guests were nice. Specially Karol G. But that last remix was super clumsy. And we all expect GREAT remixes from this show.

BTW there was a live stream from outside Madison Square Garden in NYC that attracted A LOT of people, and the viewers had amazing energy… and looking at their streaming numbers… this might have been their most successful show in YEARS.

I have mixed feelings about the show. To me, it was okay, but it definitely could’ve been better. Jasmine’s opening was magical, Candice Swanepoel did her thing as usual, and Adriana Lima handled it like a pro with ease and confidence, as if it were nothing.

Alessandra felt a bit cringe to me, and they really did Lily dirty with that outfit though she still looked great. The best segment was definitely Karol G’s, and the VS team clearly understood that. Bella Hadid’s opening in that segment completely stole the show for me it could’ve been mistaken for a Gisele Bündchen VS moment. She looked DIVINE.
Unfortunately, I have to point out that the excitement dropped off quickly with her closing. You could tell she panicked a bit, and her wings were way too heavy it ruined the moment, especially with the lack of rehearsal. She was one of the last to arrive in NYC, and knowing she was closing the show, they should’ve at least let her practice more. Such a shame.

Imaan looked amazing, and you could clearly see Anok got special treatment she looked stunning. Yasmin’s return to the VS runway was incredible, and I really hope VS took notice.
Joan Smalls' first look UNA DIOSA but I was expecting a bit more fierceness from her closing, like she brought last year.

Diane Sodre was a lovely addition to the lineup, just like seeing Awar shine on the catwalk for the second year in a row. I hated Amelia Gray there she was trying way too hard, and it showed.

Angelina Kendall looked super cute, but you could see she was nervous and really excited, which made her come off a bit childlike but she still pulled through, and she got quite a bit of camera time haha

Angel Reese and Quenlin Blackwell were the only celebrities who actually did well on the runway
Barbie was just okay.

Overall, the show was entertaining, aside from the fact that they put pants on Alex Consani like..what the hell?
Also, shoutout to some seriously underrated models: special mention to Sherry Blesnya Minher and Maty Diba they really delivered

disorganized thoughts:

1) They need to choose a place in the costume - lingerie - actual clothes triangle. The fantasy of the old show made sense because they stopped selling regular clothes in the catalog and stopping the catalog altogether. Making the whole show lean harder into the fantasy element would help make the pink segment less jarring. That includes not casting influencers. The whole thing should be dreamier.

2) It's not the same show seeing models with less personality in their walks. The blowing a kiss over and over gets old.

3) I liked some of the wings leaning away from solely wing shapes and into more mermaidy like Jasmine's or almost sea creature-like in the Magic Hour segment. That being said, a lot of them still looked cheap.

4) The audience needs to give something. Idk if we just couldn't hear it on the livestream but I remember in the old days hearing screams for the performers and models all the way down the runway, not just at the end.

5) The energy from the music felt all over the place. It completely changed with Missy's stage. I wish the whole show felt that energetic. Karol G and Madison matched their segments but I wish Madison's was a little more upbeat. I blame the influencer models rather than Twice for their segment.

Spoiler: Angel Reese

I'm happy for Angel getting a moment to shine because she's treated so awfully by CC fans but I really don't like the idea of a professional athlete walking in a lingerie show. Several men threw dildos on the courts this season with no punishment and refs let the players fight way more than they should. They talk to players while they're on the bench during games and some camera angles have been looking through their legs in the huddles, just inappropriate things to anyone with eyes. A lot of things that they'd never do to male players. These circumstances make it feel like the league is letting people watch women be physical instead of watching professional athletes in their sport. I don't think the camera focusing on Angel's posterior longer than it did any other model in the entire show helps that.

Spoiler: kpop

I can see idle, Hwasa, Jennie, Rose, Jisoo, Le Sserafim as future performers. I'd like male K-pop idols to perform too. maybe BTS, SKZ, SVT, GD

Hwasa makes sense but she's not famous enough. I would love a weird girl LSF PINK segment. i-dle, and IVE (in a couple of years for their fanbase to get older) would fit PINK. So would NMIXX but they'll never be famous enough 😿.

SVT is too many people lol but I could see Mingyu/S.Coups/Hoshi/Joshua/Vernon/maybe DK performing. SKZ could. Ateez would put on a great dark segment. Same with Monsta X but I don't think they ever would. BTS would never but J-Hope might. I couldn't see Jisoo performing at a lingerie show, not just because half her songs sound like someone else sang them. Jennie needs more than 3 minutes of stamina to perform. Rosé's songs besides APT are all too moody and sad to give the energy the show needs. I say this as someone who has listened to all of their albums. GD would and should never.

Honestly I think the most successful at fulfilling the "make women feel sexy" brief would be Ateez, and J-Hope the most realistic at being a male idol who would perform. But I wouldn't want kpop fans to turn performing at the VS show into an accolade the way they have Coachella.

Zara Larsson would have been a great musical performer. Maybe she'll do it next year after her tour. I've been listening to her album nonstop.

Finally got to watch and some thoughts:
1. Like everyone has said before, MAJOR improvement from the past years.
2. Doutzen's FACE. She's insane.
3. Daiane Sodré was my fav newbie. An actual bombshell.
4. Please stop with the pants, even if they have sparkles in it.
5. Poor Bella was struggling with those wings, it looked like she could barely hold it together. Gigi looked gorgeous in that white outfit (hair and makeup were perfect for her), but the wings also were obviously too heavy.
6. Alex Consani was incredible as always but again those PANTS.
7. I actually like Twice, but they should've had just lipsynced like Lisa did because everyone but Jihyo was suffering up there. But I guess they'll keep invinting kpop artists because of the engagement; I can see AESPA doing it.
8. Also don't think Karol G was singing live but her segment was actually hot (and so is she).

There was definitely an improvement from last year’s show in terms of production and the looks. Adam had a positive impact, it had good combination of VS camp and HF.

On the performances, I preferred Tyla and Lisa from last year. Madison is like Temu circa 2016 Ariana Grande and Twice were not the right fit for the show. Karol G was nice, but Missy KILLED it! What as legend. The soundtrack was great, I loved that 00s bit, those songs just hit different!

On the casting, it felt less name heavy than last year’s but still good, all the girls looked right. Anok blew me away, what a superstar. Alex, Yasmin, Daiane, Angelina and Awar were highlights too.

Yes it’s still faaaar away from the show’s glory days, but it’s still great entertainment and I hope it continues.

Pink segment is so unnecessary if they could do it like in 2006 or maybe even 2007 it would be nice but as it is now it's a big no.

A couple more notes:
- They can do a lot better with the PINK segment. I know it’s hard to make sweatpants and hoodies look good on the runway, but at least try to make it more fun.

- I wish the hair wasn’t so straight and had more of a volume. You could see some of the girls were bothered by the side bangs.

- Bella’s spray tan looked ridiculous imo, it looked like she got the Trump special.

Ok… I finally got time to watch the show. First of all, I’d like to give the biggest of thanks to my love @Isami for saving the day updating the segments live & being of such great assistance where I couldn’t be. I adore you, I really do 🫂🫂🫂🫂

Here’s my notes:
- Where the casting budget may have gone down, the production budget CLEARLY went up. My goodness, was the runway, the styling, the goddamn HAIR AND MAKEUP, miles better than last year’s. Everyone did the hell out of their jobs but Piergiorgio, it’s actually quite laughable to watch.
- Jasmine’s opening was magical. Her look was radiant enough, and then you have the most beautiful pregnancy glow on an already-ridiculously-beautiful woman… love.
- While I commend PG for bringing back the big 5 Angels who stuck it out all the way to ~2017-2018 (Adriana/Alessandra/Candice/Behati/Lily), Behati and Lily absolutely have got to go.
- I know this is tFS, so I’m in the minority, but I love that VS very explicitly treats Joan as if she was one of the Angels. Because she should’ve been.
- I didn’t hate Angelina. The theatrics are pure VS. And this is coming from someone who can’t stand lipsyncing on the runway.
- Precious Lee is always doing the most, and I can’t help but love it.
- Abeny Nhial is a standout newcomer to me. What a beautiful presence.
- My one qualm about the makeup is that you can very clearly tell who’s surgeried up.
- Madison and Karol G trying to have their Rihanna moment… girl.
- Groups should not be invited to perform at the VS show. No nuance needed.
- The PINK segment should not be a part of the VS show. No nuance needed.
- The celebrities and influencers clearly stood out, unfortunately. At least they tried.
- The overexaggerated walks kill it for me. Summer, Iris and Amelia….. I do not want recasted.
- Lila downgrading from having custom wings with her name on them to wearing sweats in PINK might be more humbling than Anthi and Paula having worked so hard only to not make the show at all.
- PG, if you’re going to cast unknown girls for VS, INVEST in them. Part of the golden-era VS allure were taking said unknown models and turning them into superstars.
- Stella Maxwell giving us nothing. Nice to know her VS walk/energy hasn’t improved at all.
- Who overlined Alex’s lips that much 😭
- Y*sm*n you’re still ***** ** **** but you didn’t do nearly as bad as I thought you would so I’ll give you your 8s
- Those shots of Angelina right before opening the 5th segment. My god. She is a generational beauty.
- Blesnya did a wonderful job with the outfit she was given.
- VS making sure everyone saw Devyn’s malfunction when the show was PRE-RECORDED is blasphemy. Almost reminds me of what they did to poor Ming Xi.
- Neelam Gill has zero personality on the runway, she couldn’t fake it if she tried. I also would’ve loved to have seen Mahi Kabra this year, even if she likely would’ve been shoved in PINK.
- Speaking of, no Stella Hanan after all is kinda crazy coming from PG, isn’t it?
- SHERRY MY REAL-LIFE ANGEL I LOVE YOU AND IM SO PROUD OF YOU ugh nobody deserves it more. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
- Honestly, thank heavens they gave Emily an outfit that makes her arms unable to swing back and forth.
- AWAR!!!!!! that is all
- What kind of pull does Kyle Hagler have with VS? I must say, I’m impressed. Both Anok and Joan got pampered by the brand this year.
- Love that it seems a lot more girls got to have 2 outfits this year.
- No Mayowa nor Jill Kortleve after all their work for the brand is actually really sick when you think about it
- Maty and Abeny walking out together LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL
- Bella looks glorious, but she was absolutely struggling with those wings.
- Wait I love Missy having her own moment without a model in sight.

Overall, a big step up from last year, even if still not quite at their heyday they captured the magic as best as they could.

This year I LOVED the show. Def on a higher level than last year.

Now IMO Angelina Kendall was not good, at all.
Lila Moss, Iris Law and Abby Champion were total dissapointment to me.
Lily Aldridge still didn’t learn how to walk on runway after all this years.
Stella Maxwell and Joan Smalls need to smile more. You are not at the funeral!!!
Asian bunch were not good, Liu Wen had two most awful looks IMO.

Awar was great! ❤️
Paloma Elsesser start to grow on me.
Emily Ratajkowski was cool.
Barbara Palvin & Doutzen Kroes were stars.

Opening was nice.
I was expecting more from Anok Yai and Adut but they did not deliver.

Anyway the show was much better than last year. I really loved it.
