Vogue Japan April 2025 : Amelia Gray by Mikael Jansson

Imagine the people agreeing that this was a good cover choice. My god… it frightens me.

This photo wasn't a standout when I saw it in US Vogue's March issue (and in numerous other issues, I'm sure)

I get shared content as a cost-saving measure (even if I don't like it) but I don't understand why they wouldn't at least make the photos selected for covers exclusive.

I like it! It's a nice different cover.
Not a fan of hers, but appreciate the direction here. Let's see the ed, I might change my opinion (probably will)

It's business after all.
They know the majority of conventional people buying these magazines do not check other countries publications, they are simply not aware and Conde Nast is exploiting this.

And these days, the number of conventional people buying magazines is getting lower by the year, so relying on the relative 'ignorance' of those readers seems like a short-term strategy.

Conde Nast might be saving money, but in doing that, they're ensuring they lose all their readers, both the devoted lovers of fashion who care about content, as well as the casual ones who are drifting away regardless of what gets printed on the pages.
