Vogue Paris December 2008/January 2009 : Stéphanie de Monaco by Mert & Marcus

Cato the first December/January issue I bought at the Chapters in the Yorkdale Mall! But I'm sure any local Chapters will have it! Especially the Eatons Center Chapters, or try Gateway Newstands they always have foreign Vogues! If you need anymore help feel free to ask me!

And to add to speculation about the cover, I think VP just wanted to push the envelope, just what all magazines should be doing. I think it's so utterly VP!

the cover is incredible, it leaves me breathless with how perfect it is! cheesy as that may sound, it's true.

Ah, I should've guessed. Vogue Paris will never be my kind of magazine...

As for the Stephanie cover, it does remind me a bit of the Sofia Coppola cover - only that it is not so good.

As for the calendar... well, Vogue Paris is pretty much p*rn. PornoChic or p*rn - what's the difference really? There isn't one. As for Carine liking to present her women as "strong"... well, posing in leather pants with your t*ts out isn't at least my idea of a strong individual. Like someone already said... Carine likes to liken women (or at least 'fashionable' women) women to toys. Which I personally think is rather alarming.

I have to say that Vogue Paris makes me gag... it's not just tasteless, but offending.

What I do really wonder is why I even thought I would be interested in this issue?

Hopefully calandar will come with mag outside France too.

I love the cover.. It tells a story..

Anyway, I'd love to see the HQs of the eds..

instead of the complete M&M editorial, here are the previews ...
sorry ... :flower:
see the review there for the credits

and people can talk ... but VP makes the score AGAIN ...
the thread is opened since yesterday and it has been viewed by 10.486 tfs-er and guests ... in comparison Vogue Russia Naomi issue (opened 1 week ago) had 10.324 viewers ....

Thanks a million for the previews, Berlin. I like Stephanie in Testino's ed. She looks very natural.

thank you for your scans BerlinRocks much appreciated.
Stephanie's ed looks fantastic, I love the 80's styling in the 2 pictures.

Um... so how popular a thread is tells you how good an issue is? Right. Then I guess we can say the Vogue US Dec issue with Jennifer Aniston "made the score" - that thread went on for pages on the moment it was posted, too.

^Maybe that's your opinion White Linen... but it isn't what he said. Berlin was just making a statement about how many hits the thread received... he didn't say whether that made the issue good or bad. And by the way... IMO US Vogue December does "make the score"... regardless of who is on the cover... it's a lovely issue.

I wasn't stating an opinion about either of these magazines.

I don't think what I wrote differs in any way of what BerlinRocks stated... I was pointing out another way to look at things - in my opinion popularity is never a good measure on how good something is - and that was just what, at least how I understood it, Berlin was saying.

Regardless what is my personal opinion of Vogue US (in fact, I much prefer it to Vogue Paris, if you must know), I know that it is rather hated by many people who are into fashion. I mean, TFS has even a threads that concern what should be changed in it and how bad it has gotten under Anna Wintour - because there is a good portion of TFSers here who don't like the magazine's direction. And most of the talk at the Dec thread was about how, again, Vogue US has made a huge mistake in putting Jennifer Aniston on the cover and including a quite personal interview with her.

Vogue Paris, on the other hand, is beloved.

I was simply pointing out that lots of views does not equal a good magazine... I was NOT stating my personal opinion about the said magazines, merely saying that I didn't think BerlinRocks's theory was right.

^You've already stated & quite clearly may I add what your opinion of this issue of Vogue Paris is. So why are you in here WhiteLinen... perhaps to provoke some sort of an argument... where there isn't any?

Ooo! I like it so far. I cant wait to see the rest of Naty's ed.
