Vogue Paris November 2006 : Paris Hilton by Mario Testino

So I guess next month we'll see Victoria?

No way ! -Every fashion spotter before this

Time for a change of editor...

Oh well. I'm not judging Roitfeld on this, this is one of her first major mistakes (albeit this one is HUGE). If she doesn't continue on this route, she's a good editor.

Maybe we will appreciate the good / average issues of French Vogue a lot more after this.

Um..i don' t give a toss about the cover. I'm much more interested in what' s inside? :woot:

^yep. I also would like to see better version of cover before I mock it down because of the cover 'star'..

"Well, that's good news - fashion editors on crack. "

I am going to pretend that the Paris cover does not exist and that a model snagged the cover this month. Possibly Raquel or Freja who should so be on the cover of Vogue Paris already.

That said. What's inside?!!

Its just me joking. Its not real so don't worry. I was just trying to imagine what a fashion spot magazine might look like ^_^

Luxx, I think your mock up is fabulous and so much fun. It would be fantastic if tfs members could collaborate and create their own magazine

I also think that having Freja on the cover of Paris Vogue is longer overdue!!! I can't until the day it happens!!! Has she ever been on the cover?

^ Oh!!! I have that issue!!! I actually bought it in Paris when I was visiting last year... Thanks Faith for the reminder

paris vogue~~paris hilton!!!OMG~I still prefer to put a model on the cover~

The main reason I am surprised about this is that I never knew French women even knew who Paris Hilton was, is she popular over there and why? It seems pretty silly. It's like, since when was Nicole Richie popular in Italy? If you're going to put a celebrity on the cover, doesn't it just make sense that you would use one with whom your readers can identify? Even though I know I'm not saying anything that hasn't already been said, I am just so bewildered about this thing that like most of you guys, I can't help venting on this thread!

#185  So much better than Vogue Paris cover. If it were real it would sell even more than Paris hilton Vogue, at least among tFS members. Anyway it's cool!

^_^ Muah! Thanks to everyone who liked my little mock up! I really do think that if Fashion Spot members got together they would create THE BEST fashion magazine. I've got no doubt about it.

I adore the November 2005 cover. That is what a Vogue cover should look like in my opinion, its different, its eyecatching, it displays the best in modeling and isn't overdone with headlines. And I love the font they've used. Vogue Paris always has the most lovely fonts designed for them.

Uhmmm...I'm a font nerd

I also agree that Paris Hilton is an odd choice for Vogue Paris. Is she well known in Europe? I can't help but feel that this cover has been coordinated just as part of the marketing blitz for The Simple Life and the scheduled renewal of her friendship with Nicole. Its too much of a coincidence that they're both getting on the covers of these international fashion bibles during the same exact month. That said apart from the fact that its Paris I feel like VP's covers this year have not been as artistic and creative as they have been in past years. Even that cover from just last year is leaps and bounds ahead in terms of both layout, design and general artistry. I'd like to know why that is. Even with models they've kind of recycled girls. Did we really need two Natalia Vodianova covers? Yes she's gorgeous but two in one year? Did Sharon Stone need a cover? I mean seriously. Perhaps I just expect alot from Carine and her dream team but I feel as though the overall cover quality has wanned.

But enough about that as the insides of French Vogue are still as glorious as ever. Any hints as to what the editorials are? Or who is this months stylish woman?

ENOUGH!!! this thing needs to stop!!!!
10p. in one week!!! the thing is not even out yet...

for editorials...I don't know for those ones (except the paris' editorials and paper)
but on tf1 we saw a great and fantastic shooting with Hilary Rhoda (already said...but I thought 5pages before everythig was said..then!) in Matador, Corrida thing, done with tons of Dolce & Gabbana dress ,with jogging (so I guess Carine will do ONCE AGAIN a great editorial of sport!!! Yeah she does it well just go through old Vogue Paris ( ith Kate Moss, Natasha Poly - the great L.A 2019 editorial!!!, etc.), something soo bitchy and sexy (Carine even repeated the "as you said (meaning you journalists) something very "p*rn-chic!")
so the best is to come.

please stop ther're tons of "fashion bibles" we need to focus on.

She's very Warhol to me. I like her much more than I hate her and am intrigued at why Paris Vogue would want her for the cover. It almost sounds like a round table joke, something to ease the stress as they were coming up with ideas for their November issue. I would venture to say its almost political, I think there's certainly more than meets the eye here. Any legal action against the leak?

I don't think there can be much legal action if what we have is a screen cap from the TV where Carine is talking about the cover and showing a sample of it :flower:
