Vogue Paris November 2006 : Paris Hilton by Mario Testino

I really wish people would quit giving her the time of day. All she wants is attention and if people would quit giving it to her she'd just fade away.

Eh, let her be. I remember this Bolshevik writer saying how civilizations on the rise tell stories of heroes, and otherwise they tell stories of decay. It is not her fault. She is the symbol of the decadence and demise of our civilization, and she will only disappear if we as a people stopped sucking as a whole.

Decadence is fine, in fact it's excellent, as long as it looks good. That's the problem with this. It looks like s**t. You know, for a Vogue Paris cover.

I guess we can have our dandy philosophical ideas, but at the end of the day it's people who know better, who clearly have an incredible sense for styling and art, who put this on the cover. There are other solutions to a financial problem. Of course Paris isn't at fault for it - who could blame her for wanting to be on the cover of one of the best fashion magazines of the world? Again, VP is not supposed to attract the general public. They're supposed to be above it. I'm beginning to think they are just too "up there" to get a great fashion magazine together these days.

Then again, Anna Wintour did once use the Spice Girls on the cover... maybe she was just many years ahead of this month's trend.

yep, and she even had Gwen Stefani on the cover once, which is even worse than PH alltogether....:yuk:

^Gwen worst than Paris?!!?
I am not a fan of miss Stefani but why?

No way Gwen Stefani has been making her own clothes all her life and is a definite style icon. What's more is that her style is totally unique and her own while also being a talented writer in music so that was undoubtedly justified!

Now Paris Hilton...I just don't know what to think of her. I mean, if i was her i would probably just be doing what she was doing so I have to agree with fouroclock's comments above.

In terms of the cover, I like the simplicity but as anyone else noticed how Paris looks a lot like a man? unattractive!

Gwen Stefani is a megalomaniac and cannot dress herself. She was originally very beautiful but has made herself ugly- now she looks like Tammy Faye Bakker's pet bird.

On the other hand, Paris got gypped in the gene pool. Yet she rose above her deficient DNA to become a sex symbol of sorts.

I like this minimalist '90s cover. It goes back to Carine's unpretentious early issues (prior to 2003)- all too often she uses Inez and Vinoodh and ugly models and that makes me sick. What a contrast to the English theatrics and wayward model selection that characterizes US VOGUE!

I think it's rather stupid to fight which celebrity's style is the most unique.

It's the end of the world as we know it ! Oh drama! LOL I must admit I enjoyed reading about everyone freaking over this cover.

I think I can see Paris breasts sagging under her sports bra.

Otherwise I agree with everyone... bad cover bla bla celebrity culture bla bla sell out ect ...

I know! Though I just can't help but post in this forum...I am freaking out by this, no matter how ridiculous it is

I don't blame you this is a funny thread. It's funny because it's so sad.
Alas the comments are starting to be a bit redundant we need new info to b*tch about !^_^

Are you serious? They are one of the main reasons I buy French Vogue. I love Inez and Vinoodh's work

I think many fashion magazines get stuck with doing too much work with certain photographers...I do understand why is it like that, but sometimes it feels like certain photographers only work for certain magazines...Sometimes I think they should give more chances to others too. Every Vogue edition has their "own" photographers which contribute to almost every issue.

Oh. My. God.

What is Carine on? Seriously. This just blows my mind. Paris Hilton!? What has the world come to! Why put Paris Hilton - who has done what apart from spending all Daddy's money, creating a sex tape and scandals, on the cover? She disgusts me. Vogue Paris is going way downhill....
