Vogue Paris November 2008 : Vanessa Paradis by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Is it just me but doesn't Vanessa look like Madonna in the cover shot?
The eyes, the gappy teeth (I never thought they were facially similar until I saw that shot).
Someone tell me I'm not crazy

My first thought as well. Specifically, Madonna in the 90s doing "Vogue".

Love the cover so much!
And OMG an ed with Eniko:buzz:

can´t wait to get this issue:woot:

Thanks so much for scanning the cover BerlinRocks :flower:

i totally love Raquel's ed even the crocks can't stop me. there's this degree of intimacy and something sacred that only McGinley manages to bring. all the blured colors, the lighting seem so ethereal yet realistic. something Photoshop can't deliver.
the casting seems to be a bit random and how come Lima's on track again? would be interesting to see. and God, forgive me, but i can't stand Eniko.

so it's an age issue, like vogue us aug 2008?

and i love the cover, very unexcepted..indeed it looks like a beauty ed very much....i love carine, love her to death...it's about diversity,a drag queen could appear on the cover, paris hilton could appear on the cover,an asian model could appear on the cover,a black model could appear on the cover,a nike tee could appear on the cover, now a beauty ed pic could be the cover:lol:btw,is she wearing miu miu on the cover?carine made miu miu so chic:heart:

and i'm glad to see mcginley in vogue paris...

McGinley bores me to death... Eniko is awful & a look-a-like Madonna... I don't wanna :ninja:

Thanks everyone for snaps, reviews & scans

(...) and how come Lima's on track again? would be interesting to see.

this editorial is the worst of the whole issue. i just don't understand how they published this s*** and how they cannot even think of publishing more of Raquel's ed.
the Adriana Lima does really look like a commercial editorial.
it's just full of girlish colours, furs and tons of jewels. it's soooo 16yrs old "bling bling" girl that i don't even understand why it's been published in vogue paris ... in nov. 2008 !!!!! it belongs to another decade !!! not to say the previous century ....

this editorial is really bad, imHo ....
:innocent::ninja:

adriana lima  just no

they're really obsessed with this anna s. aren't they :innocent:

^yes Emmanuelle is ...
according to her she's the new Natasha Poly ....

i think all the advertisers (like Dior, Chanel, LV ....) will be damn happy with the Adriana L.'s story .....

I hope she is not wearing Miu Miu on the cover...

The rest of the content look very good.

i believe that's the point of casting a girl 'with history'. it's like kate moss can't appear not half (or totally naked), gisele can't look like a part-time hooker (whether she wears flashy dresses or ripped pair of jean). therefore Lima... she's so much a commercial girl nowadays i can hardly see how she can belong to Vogue tribe. not that she's not good or not beautiful. it's just a matter of branding. her brand appeals to mass market, not to fashion addicts. but at least every failure can be named like an 'irony' or a 'joke' and Vogue Paris never fails to try to be ironic.^_^

or the new Daria...I remember Emanuelle being all over Daria..Anna must be her replacement..

Vogue Paris' casting is becoming as predictable as US Vogue....and it isn't all that great either :ninja:

i believe that's what she does. and who's got premium positions of advertising in this issue? my money's on some infamous italian house selling tons of shoes and bags every season.
oh this sweet world of marketing:innocent:

well... is there an ad for miu miu actually in this issue ? and which one ? (in few words)

^well there's something i like to do ...
i count the number of ads for each and then see how many times they appear in the issue.
let's play ....

yes like the issue with Ralph lauren on the cover a few issues ago, just when they had zillion of ad pages in vogue paris :innocent:

It's just how the industry works of course but it's a bit too obvious in some cases
I mean this cover is basically an extension of the Miu Miu campaign
