Yes I read that part but just a couple of weeks ago almost all the sources were saying it was a done deal for Riccardo. And now it isn't. I wonder how long this will drag out.

Out of the people on the list they released, it's really just Olivier Theyskens that I'd really like to see at the helm of Dior. I think he'd be great for the label, what it represents, and its aesthetic.

I dearly hope that it's not Alber. He belongs with Lanvin!

I kind of like Salvatore's idea of Facchinetti. I do believe that it's time for her to make a comeback. I'm not sure if Dior's the right brand for her, though. Quite honestly, I thought she and Valentino were a perfect fit.

nO MATCH, Dior made a huge mistake .. no one will runs the house like John did, they made a terrible decision without thinking ,most closely Riccardo but he is so pretentious , some designers needs to grow in Dior label and thoughts .. I can't waiting to see ,this happening !

Women's Wear Daily took another look at John Galliano's fall from Dior and who might take the helm at the fashion house.

According to a source, advisers to LVMH owner Bernard Arnault submitted a list of potential candidates, including: Tom Ford, Hedi Slimane, Olivier Theyskens, Nicholas Ghesquière, Alber Elbaz, Haider Ackermann, Prabal Gurung and Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton.

We believe this is the first time we've heard Burton's name floated. And more interestingly, if Burton dresses Kate Middleton for her April 29th nuptials (rumors reached fever pitch last month), she'll be a shoo-in for the gig:

Bernard Arnault is transfixed by royalty, and would be keen to launch Dior alongside the next-generation couple, just as Princess Diana helped catapult the image of the brand in 1995 when she toted a Lady Dior bag and, a year later, donned a midnight-blue, bias-cut Dior gown by Galliano to attend the Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
To be honest, we can't imagine what Burton would do at Dior...make shoes not-closely-resembling torture devices? Use fabric instead of butterflies? Is it odd that we can't imagine a McQueen without Burton? Or have we gotten too attached?

i'm kinda relieved to see no Tissci on the list, i love him too much on Givenchy, and i really do hope Sarah Burton stays on McQueen, we need her there, i'm still grieving over Lee's death and we all know Burton did a GREAT job in reliving his legacy

I first posted that Alessandra would be a good fit the Valentino debacle has played itself to be a hypocritical and ill fated decision. Her aesthetics aren't as flamboyant but her sensibility is a plus you can tell it was designed by a woman for women.

I think there already was an article on this. The CEO of Dior (Sidney Tolarod or something) said that he kind of took the role of the creative director. Which means there will be a HC collection in my eyes.

I am not surprised at all by the CEO being creative director. What did you think it was until now? Did any of you see John's bravado in the last 3 years? Have any of you read interviews with Arnault (president) and Todelano (CEO) saying things like:
- I don't want this bag, it's not Dior enough.
- I tell John we can't do that, and John listens.
- We are going to focus on more luxurious materials like crocodile to target a different audience. (target, audience, focus... these are not the words of an artist. these are almost literally out of a marketing manual)
- ...

The list goes on, and it shows just how unimportant John's role was at the house lately. It's a house taken over by the white collars, by a paternalistic owner that is so obsessed (obsessed is actually the word Arnault's wife uses to describe how her husband feels about Dior) with taking care of his brand he wont even let it breathe.

Don't expect something worse from upcoming collections. Do expect something just as bad as the last few ones.

It makes sense that the situation probably fueled the downward spiral emotionally, mentally, physically, even, of John Galliano. Imagine being able to create practically anything you could think of...then suddenly that privilege and trust is taken away without a word. I can't help but think it was the undoing of John (if not a large part of it).

I can officially say from a close person that i know working at Dior that Tisci is the one replacing Galliano. LVMH is waiting for the trial Before making the big announcement and Carine Roitfeld is going to be the artistic director

I'm not exactly shocked and I'm really pleased if he has got it, he has a fantastic vision and i think he'll take Dior in a fantastic direction, just like he did at Givenchy, but i hope he doesn't alter his aesthetic, i wonder if he'll have free creative rein like he has had at Givenchy though ? and Carine ? Fantastic and yet again not so surprising addition.
I just don't understand why they're waiting for the Trial to take place though .
