WOW at riccardo and carine. now if that's actually TRUE, it will be interesting, to say the least. what will happen to givenchy though?

and i think a cruise collection has already been finished by the atelier, but I might be wrong here.

if its true than I hope he doesn't make his couture shows private... haute couture is afterall most important collection everybody gets most excited about

It would be a good decision, the only thing is that I don't want the the House of Dior or Givenchy to suffer. They're two of the biggest names in fashion and with one man running both, I don't want both of them to water down or have them intertwined where we can mistake a Dior piece for Givenchy and vice versa, and since they both have Haute Couture houses, and well established ones at that, I'm worried that it might be too much for one man.

I'm not THAT happy about this but I will give it a chance.... if true.

Riccardo & Carine duo sounds like a real dream-team, I just cannot wait to see what they're gonna bring for da house of Dior.

But what will happen with Givenchy, then? Would it cause a domino effect with designers replacing one another, perhaps?

NOOOO. I can't think of Givenchy without Tisci anymore. It's going to be strange seeing him at Dior, though not entirely unpleasant.

From all the rumors, it seems Riccardo really wanted the job and finally got it. I have to say I'm disappointed. Riccardo at Givenchy was magic. Givenchy just won't be the same after he leaves. I assume his muses (Mariacarla, Panos, etc.) will follow him to Dior.

And what about menswear? It would be a shame if Riccardo only does womenswear when he takes helm at Dior.

I guess it's bittersweet. I know he will do wonders at Dior, but at the same time, I will miss Riccardo at Givenchy, a house he has become synonymous with.

Could this be about Tisci, Dior and an eponymous menswear line?

And then there's the hiss about that certain designer rumored to be ascending to that high throne of luxury labels very soon. Rumors are rife that the deal would entail a menswear line under his own name complete with ultra-luxe production values and a stand-alone store. Well the men's market certainly does need the excitement!

I just don't see the logic in Tisci at Dior. Assuming Ackermann goes to Givenchy...why not just put Ackermann at Dior? I don't get it.

Agree with agee, In terms of prestige Dior, Chanel, YSL > Balenciaga, Givenchy Lanvin

I'll accept this change with one thing, to not gradually going downhill as his predecessor.
Don't disappoint us, Riccardo!

Omg, Riccardo doing his on menswear line?! Don't joke. I hope that rumor is true, then I would have not problem with him going to Dior.

There will be somebody (I've forgotten who) else that will fill in their spots at Givenchy. :flower:

that sounds more like hedi slimane than riccardo tisci. hedi slimane, after all, has the passion for menswear where tisci sort of fell into it after ozwald boateng got booted from givenchy.

so there wont be cruise collection right? or is there one?

Toledano (president at Dior said the Dior cruise collection has been completed by the "creative team" at the house. Couture is also underway.

Whoever takes over, it will be after the couture.

Anyone noticed the amount of Givenchy we are seeing at Cannes right now? My guess is, if the rumors are true, they'd be trying to raise Tisci's profile. Cannes is the perfect occasion.

^at least everybody important... who cares what other royals wear than monaco.

Concession for Spanish royals? :flower:
