Asian Eyes

Okay so here is my look...
FACE: Revlon Colorstay in #300 Golden Beige
This foundation works! great coverage, has spf, only $10, and hasnt given me any breakouts.
Everyday Minerals Mat Medium I used under my cheekbones
EYES: Mac Fluid eyeliner in Blacktrack, Dior e/s in smoking black
LIPS: MAC lipstick in "Red"

BLUE STEEL
blue without being too much for the day by keeping the shadow low on the lids.
im blonde too so i dont want to over do it and look like Barbie.

* Dior Seascape palette
- powder blue all over eyelid avoiding brow bone, blend for a sheer soft base
- bright oceany blue on creases and blended slightly above, line lower inner half

* CS 88 Shimmer Palette
- medium navy blue on top, covering the oceany blue entirely, line lower inner half

* Maybelline Ultra Liner in Black
* Shiseido Eyelash Curler
* Maybelline Full n Soft Mascara

if i had a good medium navy shadow at the moment i would have just used that alone on the crease but the CS one is really sheer so it needed a base. this was just a spur of the moment thing, playing around with makeup so i'll probably end up tweaking it when i get better colors to work with :)

Really? I thought if anything, it was Kristin's eyes which 'gave away' her Asian ancestry. No doubt her eye colour came from her European side, but the shape is more than likely from her Chinese side.

Anyway, since the topic of her eyes (and makeup!) were brought up, here's a few :)

^ yeah definitely love her eyes ;)

the shape and proportion of her lids are definitely the give away, also the lack of brow ridge or less depth in the eye socket.

Man, Kristin Kreuk was my girl-crush back when I was in high school :ninja:. I've met her once and seen her other times (same hometown!). My close friend went to high school with Kristin's younger sister who is my age (they look very similar). I'd kill for Kristen's eyes.

Anyway back on topic haha

^ her sister is lucky she looks like Kristin, sometimes one kid hogs all the good genes!

always loved the lack of eye makeup in this photoshoot lol

wow, this thread is bringing back old memories of when i used to be "in love" with Kristin :blush: Being a Hapa myself, i think im more attracted to other people who are also mixed.

I think she is a bit overrated, she's cute and all, but nothing special IMO^^ also I don't think her makeup is that exciting..

I love that look, but it might be because Du is so beautiful^^

So, this is kind of irrelevant, but from various makeup threads, I've read about people who are obsessed with watching make-up tutorials, so I decided to go check them out. And now - I can't stop watching them!! I'm addicted!:blush: kissablekae: i love your eye makeup especially with the naked lunch eyeshadow!

To all the asian ladies out there! I share the pain of having chunky eyelids with no proper eye sockets... You CAN still pull off darker makeup, it just takes a large amount of black eyeshadow and good blending skills. Don't try to go for the "fake-eye-sockets-when-i-don't-have-any" look because then you really look like you just got punched. And definitely do not go for the asian runway look... It is quite appalling...

thank you jaydotcee!

sometimes when i try brown e/s and i feel it looks dull...i cheat and add purple!
better than walking around feeling flat.

since i dont wear black eyeliner on a normal day to day basis, i havent put much effort in finding a holy grail black liner. the ones ive tried have a sticky consistency that just makes tightlining and lash curling a mess. what are your faves?

i usually wear shimmery shadows but today i was playing with some matte, they look okay but i typically find them harder to blend. i save it for a day when i have time to play.

Me.

I wanted to post this picture but I wasn't sure where to post it and I didn't want to make a new thread.

I got eyelash extensions! Unlike fake eyelashes that are applied as a strip, these lashes are individually binded (bound?) together with your natural lashes with a semi-permanent adhesive. I'm quite pleased with them! My natural lashes are sparse, short, and stubborn when it comes to maintaining a curl. The only downside is that you have to be really careful about touching the area around your eyes (no rubbing in the morning!)

oo, I need a thread like this!!! I don't wear too much makeup, just swipe mascara and go kind of gal, but it would be fun to get more glammed up

thank you December_25th, your lashes look great! so *flutterby*

playing with mattes, using one color Dior Earthglow palette.
last photo, i added some brow stuff : on me personally i like a subtle soft looking brow, like almost airbrushed(its dreamy to me ;) ) instead of sharpely defined. i use light brow stuff to keep it soft looking. i know the trend is super filled in brows but i dont mind if they actually look like hair still(not a fan of tatted look on me), after all thats what they are! ;)

i dont think ive done an eye this deep&dark in years, at least i cant remember the last time. this is for a night out on the town!
