Balenciaga F/W 10.11 Paris

it's so brilliant and i really appreciate that Nicolas Ghesquière stick to his innovative futuristic aesthetic. it's unique, chic and beautiful.

Seems like which ever houses' handbags (Balenciaga) or perfume (Viktor & Rolf) sells particularly well has the means to keep their designs cutting edge, not-so-safe, perhaps not so wearable as a total look. I know that how fashion moves forward, but I couldn't wear it...perhaps if I were skinny and rich...nah...

found this Piet Hein Eek chair on the latest edition of HtS and it instantly reminded me of the balenciaga shoes... am i completely off  ?

I really love this collection, I have been disappointed by the previous collections but this feels like it's back on track for me. It references the past and the future. Very brilliant!

Literally obsessed with this collection, especially after seeing the show - the shapes and fabrics argh it's so good!

Amazing soundtrack !!! Love the Davide Rossi version of Royksopp's 'The Girl And The Robot' !!!!!

Ghesquière is so irregular, he can do the best (FW09 or FW08) and the worst (this). I don't deny a great job of studying fabrics, shapes and all that, but the result looks so cheap and even childish. And not to talk about the patterns, omg.

What an awful season. Fashion has become a vale of tears, this is not fair. It just needs beauty and talent.

Really strong collection. The spirit of Helmut Lang is strong in this one; in the austere, but effortlessly elegant silhouette, the sportswear-vibe,those astronaut-jackets with the fur, those capes mutating out from behind the jackets... And yet Ghesquiere still makes it his own, and Balenciaga's-- with those colors, details and small touches of old-world luxe. Digging those amazing heels with the old-school tongues. So graphic.

Does anyone have access to photos of the pieces from behind (like the photo below). I am interested to see the construction from the back. It looks super interesting.

I don't have access to it but I remember firstview had a bunch of shots from the back when the show was free to view.

^Thanks so much for posting those!

I simply adore the jackets in #236, especially the second one. The furry backs look fantastic.
