Balenciaga F/W 2008.09 Paris

Love it.

Can't wait to see Cate Blanchett wearing these post pregnancy.

the ones in #22 are my favourite

wow, this is so not what i expected, and thats a good thing

its really elegant

it's definitely a lot better than S/S. though i dont feel the love for the stiff pieces on the first page. those jackets and dresses look wrong to me. but the softer pieces with the sculpted hips at the beginning are definitely "Yes".

i can't wait to see detail shots of this, especially the shoes and jewelry

the black dresses at the beginning are ok.....but they're nothing that special. they look like old archive designs from cristobal but ****ed up with ugly seaming, shorter hemlines and a slit up the side to make it "sexy". especially the black & white one...that definitely looks straight from the archives and "modernized"

everything else is hideous, it goes on a snowball effect of ugly. more and more ugliness piled on until a crescendo of those fabergé egg printed LOOSE FITTING LATEX dresses. :yuk:

Looks like he tweeked the "greatest hits" a bit and offered this. I like the different interpretation...and it will be another commercial hit IMHO.

There's something intriguing about the patent leather dresses, and I like the 3 black dresses - it's a nice modern take on a classic. The overall look seems almost dated to me, especially with the shoes ( from what I see so far ) but I do like the twisted fabric tops.

 I agree, Ale. I feel like I'm looking at something completely different with all the raving commentary. this is quite irrelevant to me.
The prints remind me of what Peter Pilotto's been doing for quite a while, the blurry landscapes in particular.. and it's annoying to see round shoulders making an appearance as well and helping Nicholas to look innovative when both Alber and Matthew Ames did them last winter. well.. whatever. I suppose I mainly check this to see what will become my big nightmare in editorials.. I'm just glad it's something that hopefully can be flipped over and it's humble enough to be paired up with other garments.. (though I still spot a good number of "it" and "uniform" candidates :argg:).

throught the season so far, this collection is already consider above average at the ver least.... YAY ;D

I love it! And i have to agree, that's the best show so far

I think that the round shoulders are from his collection FW03? and the prints remind me the scubadiving collection (the prints and the collar).

Well I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid on this one. I'm thoroughly disappointed. The only looks I like are the twisty fabric tops and one or two LBDs. Everything else is ugly.

its a lot better than that flower and football gear explosion from s/s 08.

the outfits on page one are good. Nothing amazing, but definately a lot better than what we have been seening lately for trends. i'll take unique cuts and pantent leather coats over granny chic and gpsy chic any day. i don't really like the outfits on page two.

also in post 20, those jackets with the odd shapes are very unflattering. the models look like football players.

I'm slayed by the draped tops in post #22 especially:

catwalking.com

I don't know what to think, I'm not very enthusiatic about it. Some pieces are beautiful, but I don't like shapes of these jackets, I agree, that models look like football players.

I didn't see this one:
