Catherine, Princess of Wales (Kate Middleton)

Her hairstyle - chocolate, wavy, tumbling - is also starting to be emulated.
At Cutler Hair Salon on 57th Street, stylist Kelsy Osterman says dozens of women have been coming in and asking for a Kate Middleton cut.

"I'm cutting my hair like Kate Middleton because it's so sexy"

I don't get it. Brunette, long, basically straight with some curly body. How many millions of women have worn their hair that way for years? I can remember that was a mainstay style way back into the 70s and earlier. What am I missing?

Don't get me wrong, she's a nice looking girl. Just nothing extraordinary.

fashion-related, kate looks amazing in the engagement pics.

romance-related, they do look so much in love ;)

they looks so happy it's really beautiful to see, i hope with the stress that comes with planning a wedding william doesn't lose anymore hair he used to be so attractive in his teens.

i actually quite like the second engagement photo, they look very comfortable together and i think kate's dark hair an simple outfit shows off that gorgeous ring brilliantly

I think I would have liked it better if the tights were opaque instead of sheer, but they look sooo happy

She looks good in that dress and they are such a pretty couple because of their obvious happiness. And that's great to see:heart::blush:

I don't get the negativity- she is very pretty and will pick up whatever style pointers she needs as she gets into her new role... Diana was a fashion disaster when she first showed up- and she was already Lady Diana....;)

I suppose Kate gets more flack because she's been on William's arm and in front of the cameras for 8 years, more or less, whereas Diana had only months to get used to the spotlight. Furthermore, Diana got more adventurous and fashion-forward as time went on while Kate's style really hasn't evolved that much in the near decade she's been in the spotlight.

For my own part, I don't think she's a style icon, but I definitely enjoy seeing what she's wears.

:woot: so he finally popped the question to Kate. No more 'waitey kaitey' nasty nicknames via British media and royal watchers, good for her. I love the dress she's wearing minus the fugly blazer, I believe it might be from 'Warehouse' company.

Unfortunately, for those of us duped 'royal watchers,' Kate has been a major let down for the past 8 yrs. She has neither the charisma, style, nor career and life outside of hanging on to William for dear life. I just hope after she joins the Royal Family, she'll make a positive mark in the public eye. So far, majority of the public in the UK are either indifferent or curious about her, unlike the media insanity & public adoration that always followed the late Princess Diana.
