Catherine, Princess of Wales (Kate Middleton)

Maybe she just doesn't care about style. It's hard to believe on a fashion forum, but there are actually people who don't give that much thought to what they wear. Some of my friends look at me like I'm speaking a foreign language when I start talking about cuts and shapes and how to dress for a body type... they just tell me I'm over analyzing and that as long as the colors match, who cares?

It's been soooo long since we've had new Kate pics! Is she in hiding? Burning her wardrobe and acquiring a new style in anticipation for the media sweep that will follow her post-wedding/honeymoon?

Caroliiine, I think you nailed it. My mother is very sensible about fashion and she thinks I'm nuts when I wear skirts/tights on a cold day just because I feel like it. (If I go outside, it's only for a few minutes, so it's not like I'd catch my death of cold.) What Not to Wear seems to aptly demonstrate that most people don't know what looks on their body shape, let alone what is trendy vs more classy and a good quality investment piece.

I think her style is utterly vanilla but just watch, she'll get a great stylist and an instant transformation. If you look at the pics of Crown Princess Mary before she married, she was a total frump too. (Not that I think Mary is a fashion icon like the media likes to claim.) However, her personality probably won't change and that's the part I dislike more... :innocent:

Kate and William visit Blackburn & Darwen (April 11, 2011)

Her skirt is a bit wrinkled, but I LOVE when she wears her hair half back like this. I said earlier on this forum that I wished she would wear it like this in public more and she did. Haha...this is how she should wear it for the wedding if she wants to wear it down!

Her hair looks absolutely gorgeous. So much fresher than when it's loose. I think I will have to settle with the fact that skirt and blazers are just not my thing, but she looks nice.

I really like this outfit (sans the wrinkles) and her makeup is great. She must be getting it professionally done now. The only thing I don't care for is the color, since it is Spring I was hoping she would wear a lighter color. Wills and her are too matchy with the navy color.

I wonder how do you know about her personality while the only interview she had was for engagement which, obviously, did not give any hint of her personality?
For sure her life style is not of a modern woman's( the way she doesn't have a career etc.) But this does not say anything about her personality.

I must say her style is getting more and more conservative ( and boring) though. However lately she looks prettier and fresher than ever. And her hair looks gorgeous in the last pictures!

^Oh, I apologise. My perceived impression of her personality... Sorry, if I don't find it particularly admirable that her entire career goal has been to marry royalty. And au contraire, I think it says a lot about her personality.

Anyways. Like I said, of course her style will improve. She probably is already getting some style tips behind-the-scene.

I think Kate always looks gorgeous. Although she's not a fashion icon, she always looks appropriate and pretty. She looks great in the recent pictures :)

I agree. I really like the latest outfit. The hair is great. The colour is nice. She seems happy. The only thing I don't like are the shoes. Too boring. Too granny-like.

What is that material? It looks horrible. I must be the only one but the fit of the skirt and blazer isn't working for me. Those shoes are bad too. Like the hair and the make-up is lovely but that's it

Yeah her hair definitely looks beautiful there. It looks very neat, but I think the rain frizzed it a bit.

I saw the video and I must say that Middleton is a natural. Following her all those years I'd have never thought that she'd be that great. Seriously, she is not shy nor nervous, she takes everything in her stride and she is a pro at small chit chatting.

It may not be that bad to wait 10 years for a ring..

Regarding her clothes, I think she looks best with more vibrant colour. I love her in red but I don't think fashion really interests her nor is it her strong point. I remember the time when she only wore mini skirts and suede boots.

Anyway I was nowhere a fan (nightclubs 3 times a week, vacation every 3 weeks, no work ethic, no apparent interests outside of PW) but I must say that she learned her job well and was born to be a Princess.. I don't think she'll be as great as Mette Marit (who for me does the best job) or as fashionable as CP Mary (who is the best dressed) but she'll do okay for the British Monarchy..

^How do you know she hasn't been practising to become a princess in all those years? It's not like she's been doing much else...

I want to add that despite how unpatriotic I'm going to sound, I prefer Letizia, Maxima, Queen Rania before Mary. I also do like Victoria of Sweden, because she, like her cousin Frederik had to come to terms with their titles and responsibilities - even though, they in fact, were born to it. Kate is somewhere in the bottom because of the many reasons, you summed up quite well.

Regarding her suit, it is conservative, but that is the royal style.

Sorry I didn't express myself correctly but I think she trained during all those years. Because one day she was just Middleton and the next she was Middleton engaged to PW and was somehow "a natural". I mean you don't learn the ropes overnight..

I am not a fan of Middleton and I'll never be. I think she set a very bad examples for young girls, she took 12 A-levels (which is a lot) so she did show academic dedication in high school, but then got into uni, had her degree and didn't even use it. She spent 10 years waiting, partying and going on familly holidays (and I guess learning how to be a princess)It's not very 21st century.. I am not a fan of CP Mary either. I think she just dresses well. She could have done great things but she doesn't seem very invested in our world... Oh yes she does have patronage and shows up for event, promote her country etc..but I don't know. I had huge expectations..

To me CP Mette Marit, Queen Rania and Princess Letizia are the best. Letizia doesn't do much without her husband but if I am not mistaken the Spanish Royal Family is the one who works the most out there! I can't really put CP Victoria in the same basket since she was born royalty but CP Mette Marit really had it rough and despite all of that she is doing such a great job. To me her and her husband really set the example of what royalties should be today..they really seem invested in our world and are really working hard on bringing some important issues out there. Queen Rania too, that woman is fabulous!
As for Middleton I don't expect more than what we are seeing right now.. I mean look at her future husband..
