Well, we agree on her style, very ordinary, but that's how women in his family dress, very country-style and understated, never trendy or with much flare. I think he is attracted to that because that's how the women he loves are. He adores his cousin Zara and Kate is a lot like her style-wise: very jeans and timeless belts, bags, etc. Nothing outrageous, but clean and neat and reliable. She also has a nice body, very much like William's family again because she is trim and in-shape but is not over-skinny. She is healthy from exercise, not starving herself or smoking too many cigarettes.... though I do think she smokes. William smokes and Kate's friends smoke, as we know from pics, so I guess she smokes as well. I have never seen a pic proving it, but I would imagine her to be a smoker.

I was trying to express my own thoughts on her style. I am being honest when I say I like her style. That is how my friends and I dress. Right or wrong, it's what we like and how we feel comfortable, not trying too hard, but trying enough to be respectable, if you know what I mean. I don't know how others feel, but how can you dress in a way that makes you feel like someone else? I am honestly not trying to be rude. I really want to know how others feel about this. Educate me. Is it so bad to be "ordinary"?

The thing is, it's not good 'sloaney' in my opinion. One can be preppy and 'basic' and still look good. And the girl really doesn't. I don't get the comparisons to Zara either who I think dresses quite sweetly and always has a bit of a spark about her. But why do we have two topics on her? Unnecessary. Will merge.

Again, not trying to be touchy! But I will watch that just in case!
Like I said, we agree she is no Nicole Richie with Nicole's fancy Spy bag and the like or Lindsay Lohan's gi-normous sunglasses (Dior or something). She reminds me a lot of those Pony Clubish, countryside Alliance type of English girls.
About what Meg says about something being "off", I agree that the sunglasses aren't the best. They are not even very practical, are they?! I don't think they can even protect one's eyes at all!

^^ yes i completely agree..it appears as if that is the type she is TRYING to be, but obviously knows not much about it- case in point- those sunnies you pointed out, and even the rest of the outfit..yuck. believe me, i myself live in south ken and have many friends who dress preppy or sloaney and it looks entirely different then that..

i agree, her style is so boaring. and like u sed in ur other post about zara having more of a something about her, she adds a little twists to her outfits where as kate is just so dull with her dress sense. and i think i may have posted it somewhere else but she is one of those "celebs" who cant make their minds up about being photographed, earlier last year she had statements from lawyers to the paparazzi saying dont take pics etc, and then by november she was posing for the cameras whilst shopping

What is "sloaney"?

Upper-middle class/aristocratic boys and girls (aka 'rahs') wear a style of clothing known as 'sloane'. For boys it's biege chinos and white shirts, for girls it's Kate Middleton. They probably also study agriculture (known in common parlance as 'rah studies') at St Andrews or Durham University, and go to Ascot every year.

^ Sorry but a sloaney doesn't neccessary mean that you dress in a particular way. Kate lives in Chelsea which is near Sloane Square and so is a sloaney.

Also I find that Kate dresses to be photographed but at the same time does not want to if that makes any sense.

I saw ages ago a photo of Kate smoking while on a skiing holiday with Wills.

I do not really like Kate as she does not come across as a nice person to the public but only to people who are high-society and royal. She seems to act like someone she isn't. Kate you are a commoner!

Former St Andrews’s friends apparently have speculated if she will ever get a proper job, even pouring scorn on her so called business venture into children’s clothing.
