Chanel F/W 10.11 Paris

I don't think this is that bad, some of the pieces are cool ut I have to agree about the use of fake fur, that just looks cheap!

According to the review by Sarah Mower above, the iceberg is real! Unbelievable. I guess that's where the water came from.

Haha! One of these five is not like the others

Call me ignorant or tasteless all you want, but I find myself loving this collection. A glacier?! That's kind of... amazing.

There are incredibly beautiful pieces here among the already loathed faux-fur boots and pants. Could Karl be making some sort of commentary on the terrible Uggs trend that won't die off? I also love the irony of it all. The classiness and luxury that comes to mind with the Chanel brand mixed with the stigma of faux fur is an interesting clash in what the two represent. There are pieces here that I can see in editorials and pieces I can see on the street. Karl is a showman and this collection is quite the cure for the mundane.

Like most collections, I only seem to like the pieces on the models and styled to perfection. I doubt I would care for any of this on the average woman.

ok in some seasons i really starting wondering if we hit the time when Karl is loosing his mind - usually i love anything he do - even at his weakest he is still better than most of ppl out there - but as i said, in some years i wish he would go on long vacation and done just one collection a year - and this is this time of year XD go to hawaii kaiser :D

I have never seen Chanel as a house that features fur... it's not Fendi. And he puts the iceberg on the stage as a cautionary tale for global warming? Isn't putting an iceberg in a show an incredibly energy exhausting act?

chanel has been incorporating fur in to the outfits forever, mostly seen during the couture I think... they are working with the best furriers in paris.

I think it might be a hit to the 'global warming issue', especially the melting ice under the fake-fur boots.

... but mostly I think it's a chic eskimo running around. there is still much snow here in stockholm, I'll feel much more chic when I'll go out tomorrow.

blech
i hate most of it
i like a few random pieces, but to me this collection makes me feel

i know its got people talking but i just can't get over that the iceberg is REAL

CHANEL Iceberg shipped from Sweden for the Chanel F/W 2010/11 show by KARL LARGEFELD at the Grand Palais.

The designer is sending an ecological message to the fashion world, and the world in general, against global warming, which he called Global Cooling in line with his honed sense of paradox and irony. Whether or not the climate warming up or cooling down these days in Paris, is a true political message. We can not fight the ecological disaster without a new political creativity, inventing a new economical (anti-capitalistic) system. It’s amazing that Karl is becoming a Marxist this season!

I think he introduced a few of the stranger pieces were intended to play to our humour and grab our attention, while some of the others were actually designed to be worn. But that's just my opinion.

If you take all the fur off (except for some jackets) you'll see a really nice collection.

I think the fur things ruined it. The other pieces are nice though :)
