Chanel F/W 10.11 Paris

PETA, where are you?

i'd never wish so much like this time they could ban Karl down.
the fur is brainless, wth would wear like a monster?!
and those fur boots, they make all models like gaining triple weight around their feet.
i really wanna say something good, but this is way off.
ok, the theme is insteresting, and that's all.

there are still some nice outfits, but as a whole collection there is nothing special, exciting, maybe except those terrible furs.

I wonder what the carbon footprint is of bringing an iceberg to a Chanel show? This has the most ridiculous "awareness" show ever. The amount of energy he's using would be enough to power a small country.

Those fur clothes are disgustingly bad, And those fur boots are the footwear of choice of the UK Chavettes. But there are some nice clothes in the middle of this.

I completely agree. And as a fashion show, it was also a let down. Even the "normal" looks did not make up for those horrible Yeti outfits! Fail, Karl. Epic fail. Glad he at least used fake fur though.

Oh god.

I think it's time Karl retired from designing, this collection is just dreadful.

Alber Elbaz anyone?

Ok aside from the god awful full fur peices  some of this is actually pretty good, like the white dressses towards the end of the show. I think he could have done better though there is just to much fur

All right, it's another big Chanel show, people are going to talk about it, blah blah Karl is genius blah can do everything blah blah blah. And though I'd agree it certainly is something to put a giant glacier in Grand Palais, it simply doesn't impress me anymore. Quite opposite, it feels Karl is trying way too hard.

just saw the previous pages! hmmm. need to see more to decide

So if what's said in the first page is to be believed, Karl Lagerfeld's idea of an "Ode to Global Warming" is to displace an iceberg from nearby the polar regions which, by the way, are already under threat of melting? So Karl Lagerfeld has simply exacerbated global warming for the sake of indulging in this petty and shallow fashion fantasia, guided by his inability to actually grasp real world issues?

Yeah, he is SO brilliant. I can hear the patter of little sheep feet in this forum. Think a little more critically, why don't you?

Karl, I give you the finger.

I'll have to say that there is quite a number of Chanel pieces in this collection that are definitely worthy of investment. Some of the jackets, dresses, and skirts have the typical Chanel handiwork and attention to detail. The fabrics, as usual, are well-chosen. On the other hand, as pro-fur and anti-PETA as I am, the use of fur in this collection is just plain sloppy. Then again, nearly all contemporary designers seem to have forgotten how to successfully use fur as a material. It's as if the 40s never existed.

don't like that there is so much fur and i don't know why they put an iceberg in the show - and how did it stay there for so long without melting and stuff and how did they transport it? and the question above all is: why? it's not really environment friendly and does NOT raise awareness - I mean come on! it's just to draw attention to the chanel show! nothing more! but i think some jackets and skirts look really nice and have the typical chanel flair!

i like these two so far the most

Looks like one big joke, though it's not funny anymore. And all those soaked furs look really awful.

well... there are some very beautiful pieces, like few black dresses, but overall i'm just WTF with the furs? They're pretty awful, esp. the furry pants and jumpsuits.
