So my whiskey paddy is back home, and here she is:

sorry about the poor quality of the pic!

Wow!! That bag is so beautiful!!
What colour is it exactly, mrj? Jeans moyen? or Blue clair?

cougess - you can insure the bag for full value AND write "return to sender". Oh well next time! :flower:

I chickened out about lying on the customs form so I insured and valued the bag at $1200 as per buyer's instructions. Oh well...

asl - unfortunately i have never seen the ivory IRL. I dropped by Bloor HR today and enquired about the ivory. Put myself on the list to see it. Hope you like your's! Very exciting.

Hi, I was just wondering if you managed to see the ivory in person at HR on Bloor. I was on the waitlist for the ivory and I get a call today from my SA at Bloor that she managed to secure an ivory one for me:woot: so she is Fedexing it to me. I'm very excited but just curious how it looks in person.

As for the color, I wanted the ivory because all the bags I've bought lately have all been brownish:

Gucci suede med hobo in chocolate brown
Mulberry Roxanne in oak
Fendi Spy in cognac

Also, the ivory one was the color I was drawn to when I saw the pics on NAP. I'd stay with the whiskey if that was your first choice. But if you have alot of brown bags, get the ivory for variety.:D

Here are pics of my light blue paddy! I just picked it up this morning. I'm a bit disappointed to see that my lock is scratched. The leather feels very soft and slouchy. As you could see, it's a bit pebbled and very wrinkly. The color reminds me of an MJ satchel I used to own in the Ocean color. The hue is VERY similar.

WOW!!! That's gorgeous. I saw the blue hobo and completely did not like it, but in the satchel, it's phenomenal! Very awesome!

Hello everyone- just wanted to let you know I just had lunch and saw 2 Ivory Paddingtons and 2 chocolate brown paddingtons at Nordstrom's at the The Grove. They were out on a table all 4 side by side!

Help: I am trying to decide between the royal blue paddington or the whisky. I have a plum bag I used all fall and winter...gustto. sort of over it. I fell in love with the blue, but now am sort of thinking that the whisky would be a wiser choice. I will get sick of this bag by the end of the summer so will put it up for a couple of years. any advice....and how dark is the whisky?

It's written BLUE on the tag. I think it's the same as NAP's light blue or Jeans Moyen. HTH.

I'm sorry about the lock also - where did your bag come from? It almost looks like that was a return.

It was a transfer from another store in Nordstroms. I was told that it was not a return as my SA called me the same day they receive a huge shipment of paddys. I wish I knew about the lock prior to doing the phone order  ...nonetheless, it's a lovely bag. I saw the whiskey and chocolate the other day and those locks have similar scratches too ... Thanks![/quote]

My whiskey has some scratches like that too but they are not really noticeable until I get up close. Every lock has some issues; Even my locks that I all perfect have some minor imperfections that aren't scratches. You can call Nordstrom and ask they exchange locks from another bag - they should do that; they are all for the customer. The bag itself is absolutely gorgeous! The leather looks like last season leather.

And this is the pebbly leather one

I received my blanc paddie today and looks just as pebbly as stephbina's. I absolutely love the leather pebbly because it makes it look authentic (the fake ones are very smooth). Anyways, just wanted to know if brass hardware on the paddie are supposed to be different colors (ie. the studs are different shades) and is there a way to clean it. Any suggestions:unsure:

Wow, it seems Nordstroms everywhere but here (San Francisco) is carrying a lot of paddingtons aren't they? I walked into the Nordstroms in downtown SF and haven't seen any yet. They carried some other high end bags though.

I carried my whisky paddington for the first time today. Very awkward at first when trying to put things in and get things out. I'm being too ginger with the lock though. I just don't want to scratch it .

Also, it just had to start raining when I got out of the subway . Luckily, I had an umbrella. Did pretty good avoiding water droplets on the walk to the office. And then... I got in the door to close my umbrella and the act of closing my umbrella splashed water on it!! Luckily, the water dried without staining the leather. *phew!*

Does anyone have a photo of Paddington Shoulder Satchel that shows how the removable shoulder strap attaches to the bag at the sides? When removed, does the Paddington look like a regular Paddington?

There are rings at both sides of the bag that the strap attaches to. Other than that, I'm pretty sure it looks like a regular satchel. Sorry, I don't have a picture.

My mini blue paddy is on its way from Brown's! I can't wait to get it, I think the mini will be adorable :D

whiskey paddy

There's one at Nordstroms in Bellevue, WA --- just called to check their inventory and apparently whoever had it on hold was out of town.....

Yes, it is normal for the brass studs to be different colors from the other hardware. The Italian craftsman view matching hardware as optional features. All of my bags vary in hardware color as far as rivets but the lock and key on each bag matches.

I don't clean my Paddingtons or give them any special treatment other than wiping them down with a baby wipe before they go back in their dustbag. This won't clean ground in dirt but it does remove surface stuff like dust and lint.

Does the Blanc have a yellow undertone? Is it a yellow white or a bone white?

Roey, thanks for the care tips.

The blanc is a true yellow-ish ivory, but not harsh at all. Think of french vanilla ice cream and you'll get an idea. it's very neutral and not too "white white"
