it came! it came! not 15 minutes after i got off the phone with fed ex (they had told me my bag was still in transit!) I got a knock at the door. there was my bag! who knows why their tracking was so behind- but i'm just so happy it's here!

it's lovely!!! the anthracite is very matte and just fine to carry for day (although this will mostly be an evening bag). the leather is fab and the lock works perfectly and because it's silver no worries about chipping or scratching. I'll try to post a pic as soon as i can find my husbands camera. yayayayayayay!

thanks to everyone for their help with this purchase! now i want more! :D

:woot: congrats!!! how's the new paddy? i hope there's no scratches or marks on it.. ;) :flower:

New shipment of paddies just came to the Sacoche boutique in Bahrain (its an authorized Chloe store, mentioned on the Chloe website): Ph#97317587874

I know they have the mini paddington's in chocolate, blue, whiskey and the metallics. THey are priced at 400BD (Bahrain dollars), which translates roughly to approx. $1000 USD ( so much cheaper than the states).

They also have a grey mini for 440BD (don't know why its priced higher).

Hope that helps!!

thanks so much! it's perfect! the lock is just what i hoped for- matte silver. I didn't want a super shiny buffed out silver. the leather is fabulous- nice and pebbly with a nice metallic matte sheen. i think the anthracite bags always photograph a bit more shiney because the flash used in photos. the mini is the perfect size for me- just enough room for my wallet and cell and a few small items. The bigger the bag- the more i carry!

I received my blanc paddie on Friday from Holt Renfrew here in Canada. I absolutely love it(the leather texture is perfect, stitching is fine and the padlock is fine) BUT the key has a chip on it!:( At first I thought it was just dirt but once I looked closer I saw that it was a chip, a little circle about 4 cm in diameter). The coating is completely gone because all I see is the black metal of the key. I tried calling the SA I bought it from if I can exchange just the key but she isn't in today so I'll have to wait till tommorrow. It just seems a complete waste to return the bag because of the key, especially in Canada, Holt Renfrew is the only place you can buy Chloe (unless there's small boutiques out there that I don't know about) and they only receive very small shipments to start with.

Well, last summer, I purchased a paddie on Ebay which, of course, ended up being a fake. I still have the bag (I know this might be sacrilegious to those Chloe purists out there) but I took the key from the replica and compared to the real one. They look exactly the same except for the authentic is a little heavier and more matte in color. The funny thing is the replica key works on my authentic padlock! I figured that most people will look at the leather and the padlock rather than the key. You can't really tell unless you put the key right next to the padlock that the key is a little too shiny.

Anyways, I still want to exchange the key (I paid enough for the bag, I should at least have the proper key) and hoping maybe Holt Renfrew will let me, considering they only have a whiskey left, I don't know:( Has anyone else just exchanged the key?

I can't imagine that they can exchange the key -- it's not like they have a drawer of them. their only option would be to take the key off the whiskey, which would render that bag unsellable. I guarantee they will tell you to deal with chloe directly.

for those who may be interested in NYC

i was just over on Bleeker street having my eyebrows done, and across the street in the Inermix store, they have a paddy for sale in that new brown color, i forget the name right now, but its really fantastic, i have a tan, its darker than mine, and warmer. really very nice

best

My blue mini paddy arrived today! I was starting to have buyer's remorse after ordering it, but now that I see it I absolutely love it!! The mini size is adorable (I tend to be attracted to smaller bags) and the blue color is gorgeous - it is more of a grayish blue, reall pretty. The leather isn't quite as pebbly as the leather on my sable paddy, but it is still somewhat pebbly.

Now I'm debating whether or not to cancel my NM pre-order for the chocolate bowler...I told myself I would pick one, the mini or the bowler, and now I can't decide!

I will post pics later :D

I need opinion, I ordered the Anthacite paddy however I like the cream. Which one do you like? Which one should I get?

So indecisive!

guessgirl, there should be a control for macro which is for taking pictures close up. in my camera, which is a canon, i have the picture of a flower for macro. play with it and you'll be able to take great pictures.
which one did you get?

Oh thank you!! I didn't even know about this, but I found the little flower and tried it and it is better. I have the Canon Powershot SD400.

Congratulations, Fashion Junky!! Can't wait to see pics!! :woot:
I think you should wait to receive the chocolate bowler before you make a decision. It's also a great style and beautiful color. Maybe you can end up keeping both? ;) It is completely different.

Eek! Help! On the handle of where the leather is folded, the plasticy finish that joins the leather sides is cracking down the middle. Can I do anything to fix this? Glue it?

 i'm not sure how to describe it but i'll try my best.. umm.. there's a piece of leather on each handle of the paddy sachel. mine moves to one side the more i use it... does any1 elses' does the same or is it supposed to be glued down??

sorry if i don't make sense.. i'm like that sometimes.. :innocent:

I don't think they're glued and are uneven on many bags, but the ones on mine are so tight they don't move.

 plasticy finish??? i can't find it on my paddy.. u should ring up chloe n ask them.. don't try fixing ur bag, ask chloe first coz i don't want u to cause damage ur paddy... ^_^

chic_chick - Mine does the same thing too but only on the front handle. I agree with lilygirl I don't think it's supposed to be glued ... it just depends how tightly the leather piece is sewn on.

she's talking about the seams on the edges of the handles -- all the paddies have them. frankly, I would just superglue it.

Yes SEAMS!

Yes, I think a spot of glue will do it. *fingers crossed*
