thanks everyone! i do lov emy bag, alot and i am willing to sacrifice time to send it to paris soon, hopefully so tjhey can re-stamp the Chloe MADE ION ITALY sign and also mmph fix my padlock> i dont think i can do anyuhing with the jean stains, theyre actually quite notciable, re dye it? ahah i dont know sitll love my bag

yassira - no doubt both are gorgeous. I purchase both tan and whiskey to decide - and ultimately chose tan because it fit better with my spring/summer/early fall wardrobe - I don't see whiskey as a summer color but others do. (I also just bought another expensive fall/winter bag and didn't want them competing for handling time). But I LOVED whiskey regardless. If you can afford it temporarily you might get the whiskey and compare them IRL and see which works best for you - then return the one that doesn't. Have fun! :flower:

Love the whiskey... Tan and whiskey pocket/professor paddy bags pictured here...

M -- which style do they have? I have found you really have to investigate each Blanc bag individually. There are pebbly ones out there, believe me !! They go from one extreme to another -- from being totally flat and  to soft and pebbly !! I have to say tho, whiskey is my #1 fav and then comes the blanc.

Here are pictures of my whiskey hobo -- check out the leather. This is my only Chloe that has challeneged the test of time!

mmamb i love your blanc! is the draying of the cellphone pocket that bad? its so nice the wrinkly leather and the whiskey it looks gorgeous, doesnt look flat at all. whats with the variness of leatheres?

oof mammab, that's some beautiful leather on the whiskey.
socal, was that your large whiskey that just sold today on ebay! lovely, congrats!

well ladies, i've sold my turquoise balenciaga, and while the funds are still sitting in paypal i'm considering my next bag..

so i've been offered this paddy by a PF member for $1k.. is this a good price? (and of course, if it's authentic; but i've posted that in the fake/real thread):
she says it
- is a pink paddy from ss05 - which is actually like a light warm ivory IRL
- has a little wear on the handle, like a scratch (which i can't really see in the pics)
- bought for $1380 from aloharag, but did not receive a dustbag or care card with it.

I'm new to the whole paddy thing (though it's really winning me over big time), so any help would be really appreciated. =)

^remind me for the 40th time which bags you have ended up with??

Hey Mondodabolsa -- just have the whiskey hobo for now. Too dissapointed w/all the others as far as color, quality control (where I purchased new and got rejects instead -- remember eyelashes and quarter?) and then the lock issues and the fraying/loosening of my cell phone pocket on both my blanc and whiskey satchel. I do have the large pocket in Blanc I am waitlisted for from my local Nordstroms, but I am not even getting my hopes up (better to be pleasantly surprised.....). Taupe was nice but was a total "love hate" relationship. I really loved it at first and then, well, eh, I didnt. It took just a day to figure that all out.

So basically, I"ve kinda chilled out for the moment. I'm on the hunt for a nice yellow bag and have found a few and needless to say, they are not from any high-end designers, but I think that their quality will be better than others for now since they are not so pressed on cranking out tons of handbags to meet demands, ya know? Don't get me wrong, I love the styles of Chloes and Balenciagas, just hoping that next season or thereafter, leather and quality will improve (JMO -- no offense please to those who adore them).

I guess I'm just frustrated b/c once I find a bag I love, it seems that I am late on the bandwagon b/c the best leathers, etc. were produced the season before. It's what happened w/me and Balenciaga (just got on the bandwagon there s/s 05 -- where the last of best leathers were produced and now w/Chloe).

So I'm chilling out. But I did have to make that comment on the Blanc. Good ones are out there, you just have to hunt and in my case, it was a matter of ordering via phone/on-line and then inspecting and then returning if they were not up to par. Believe me, I received a couple of sorry Blanc hobos w/very flat leather and where the hardware was splattered w/the white paint/dye/whatever and the leather was very matte and blah....but then I did receive an amazing satchel w/great leather, but then, the pocket was coming undone inside. I couldn't live w/that. Not w/a 1,500 plus handbag ya know?

^you are very level-headed mammab! and just a side note, in both my paddy's the top stich on the cell phone pocket came undone, my choco one actually came that way...

I spoke to Chloe about denim transfer on one of my bags. They referred me to a local "bag doctor".

It is likely that you would receive a similar type of referral from your local retailer.

so i'm getting my first paddy!!! :bounce:
can't wait... esp since the pics i have of it aren't very good (see above), so it'll be a surprise when i see it! a good one i hope.... i hope the leather's all pebbly and squashy, like others i've seen..

SoCal- thank you!!! phew but are they gouing to re dye it or use a special creme or cleanser to take it off? =S and i live in vancouver canada no factum leather place... i called like shoe stores and all they say is 'no solution'

Mammab - sounds like you're being very practical. Someone in here has to lead by example! :D I agree about the leather being so inconsistent this season that it just gets tiring trying to find that elusive bag you have a picture of in your head that never seems to make it to your door. Or worse, it does and is flawed.

The price increases on the Paddington satchel and other styles are climbing way too high compared to the quality of the bags. If I am going to start spending upwards of $1600, I'd rather purchase a Chanel.

I still lust over new photos of the Zippy and Pocket Paddy but know a year from now I'd regret having every single Paddington style ever made! Like you, I'm going to take a Chloe chill pill and try to enjoy the bags I have.

I hope you find the perfect yellow bag in your search quest! :D

Congrats! Does she have the receipt from Aloharag? Can you post pics for us to take a look for you? That color is called Sable and it is a valid SS05 color. If it is authenitc, the leather should be thick and squashy, though pebbling varies from bag to bag.
