pocket paddy bag

Ladies,

I love the pocket paddy on the NM website it looks a lot roomier than the original paddington (which I already have in black). Can anyone give me some feedback before I take the plunge? Thanks:rolleyes:

I tried it on yesterday at store and I don't like it.
1. It is very slouchy if you don't fill the bag full. So it kind of loses its shape when I carried it.
2. If the bag is not fully equipped, the lock will sit in the middle of the bag and will sag into the bag which I don't like.

These are just my own opinion. But I know SoCal loves her pocket paddy,.:D

SoCal tell me about your paddy pocket? Is it roomier than the paddy and do you love it?

Politely butting-in, I had the opportunity to hold both in my hands and put my belongings inside. IMO the pocket medium is definitely bigger than the original paddy, but in its own way. It's less "long" and more "tall" if that makes sense. Also I found I was able to fit more things in due to the increased depth of the bag. The paddy to me, is more triangular shaped while the pocket is more boxed shape.

The large one, I truly loved, but the color wasn't doing it for me (taupe). I'm patiently waiting for the large in blanc to arrive.

As far as the lock sitting on top of the bag, this is very true, but what I do is undo the zipper and bring the leather tag over and through the loophole, twice and then attach the padlock to it that way. This way, it hangs lower, is not in contact with the metal loop thing thereby protecting the lock from peeling. I do this on my hobo and I love it. If I didn't do it on my hobo, the lock would sit right on top and smush the bag down. That really bugged me till I figured out the alternative.

pocket paddy

I am with you mammab. I do not like the taupe either. I know the large pocket paddy has a bigger pocket but is it also a larger bag?

dfigliolia:woot:

^ Yes, the large pocket paddy is more tote-like than the medium.

I agree, the shapes of the medium satchel and medium pocket paddys are quite different. The shape of the pocket is a better "fit" for me (less triangular, more rectangular in profile).

Mammab, Good call on the taupe...this color is a bit strange, even more so in the larger bags I would think...

I do not fill my pocket paddy, so the lock does not rest on the top. I leave my bag open and the lock rests on the front of the bag.

I loved the black pocket sooo much that I "inspected" it in tan and whiskey. I also looked at chocolate in the boutique...I discovered that one pocket paddy was really enough for me and I only "loved" the black...

I have a mousse pocket paddy from LVR that I am keeping, but I just returned my blanc pocket paddy to BG. The pocket paddy is bigger, but after using the mousse discovered that I missed (1) the side pockets on the satchel, and (2) the cell phone pocket on the satchel. All my junk ends up jumbled in the bottom of the bag - similar to the fendi spy bag effect (no inside pockets). If this is your first paddington, I'd recommend the satchel, or at least make sure you can return the bag. :flower:

ebay has a gorgeous dark brown large paddy pocket (BUY NOW price of $695) from somewhere in the UK. How can it possibly be real for $700. Does anyone have advice? I wouldlove to buy it if I knew is was not a fake.

one more color

forgot to mention that the Noir was there as well and IMO, that leather had, by far the most amazing leather ever !!! Wish I was a noir kinda gal otherwise I would have snatched up those bags.

From what I can recall:

Medium zippy (this had INCREDIBLE leather -- soft, squishy and visually, by far the best pebbling I Have ever witnessed, ever).
Large pocket
Paddy (original) . . .
and a few more, I am sure....

I can't believe I forgot to mention the black. It was the best of the bunch and THEN the chocolates, for sure.

^^I just talked to a SA at Nordstrom in Portland and they just got in much of the above so I won't repeat the list - but lots of chocolate and blanc pockets and shoppers, jaunes, etc. Some new Betty's and Keralas. ONE MOUSSE SATCHEL TOO! 503-620-0555 Handbags - ask for Allison or Kathy!

Ahhhhh, that $695 price tag is in pounds, it has to be. Not sure of the conversion (and too lazy to look up as I've had some vino tonight!).

I have seen some nasty fake pockets on eBay recently going for about 500-600 USD. OMG mammab I did some baaaad shopping on vino last night! Dang! You'd better be careful - don't drink and surf!

I was about to buy a Mini Silver Paddington on LVR and they just sold out! Does anyone have any other ideas where I can look- besides NAP? I can't seem to find one in the US! What about Chloe boutiques abroad?
