Wow Madem, your bag is gorgeous! I'd have a hard time letting it out of my hands to get a stamp, but understand the concern for resale value - BUT anyone who knows paddingons should easily recognize that as authentic, although I can't imagine selling it either! You might want to find out how much money and time it would take to ship it back and forth for repairs to help u decide. good luck.

Can you give me the number for Harrod's. I am from New York. I would love the shopper in chocolate. Also, if you have a contact person. Thanks:o

Hi. Harrods number is 020 7730 1234 - I don't have a contact there, but all the S/A I've spoken to are lovely...good luck, it's such a beautiful bag!

Signs for paddington poor quality???

I need some advice here.

I just bought a paddington whiskey last mth & in the past weeks, I have noticed that there are "white powdery bits" around where my padlock dangles to the brass "hook".

It is getting more obvious each day, that the "white powdery bits" are actually the top layer coating of the hardware & if I scrutinise hard - there are actually patches of shiny metal surfacing on the brass "hook" & padlock.

I like to know - are these signs indicating that I am going to suffer the same fate like many others that have problems with their hardware?

Also, I am really not impressed with the quality of this bag.
Other flaws I noticed - the round small studs on the bag - it is showing signs of tarnish (not sure if it is due to the tropical weather where I am)

Also, the black painted edges of the leather actually comes off - as I noticed black flakes of paint on my fingers & I concluded it comes from the bag.

Is this normal wear & tear that I should tolerate OR does this sound like a lemon in my possession??

^Welcome to the world of Paddington ownership! The locks do peel - some worse than others. I have four Paddy satchels and a Bowler Paddy and every single lock and hook has issues.

I haven't really scrutinized the studs or noticed any of the paint coming off, but I don't carry the same bag every single day either.

^^yup, both of my paddys have major peeling. The fall 05 tan one I bought used about a month ago (or two by now??) came to me in absolute pristine condition, not a peel in sight, and I'm using it today and noticed it has major peeling. Made me feel like it's something I did to the bag! I'm a bad paddy owner apparently :p

^^^My studs have some tarnish/peeling too here and there, even on the brand new paddy. I try to think of it as 'unique' - and have a beer. B)

I was so looking forward to roey's arrival to make my Friday night home with pizza and Edith in the box... perhaps I need to buy a life instead of another bag! :o

A few happy Friday's ago DH was soooo happy he actually bought my story that I should buy 4 bags from LVR because of the potential profit-margin to resell in the US! TG for my c/c I was either too loopy to type my number correctly or I got the usual error transaction cuz it didn't go through... we both woke up the next day sweating bullets and he said "what the he** was I thinking???!!!"

Very funny, Blue! I can so see this happening...

Mammab...It is happy hour at SoCal's house now too... Will not shop...plan to TiVo tonight with DH...

Maybe I've not kept up on the peeling posts... but is it with the leather being affected or the lock & studs? I know of the problem with the locks but that's kind of hard to avoid. Haven't looked at my leather that closely but with the light colors it wouldn't be as obvious.

I have a creme bag and the leather is peeling on the piping on one ofthe edges. It's definatly noticable becuase unerneath theres a suede like leather which gets dirty very very easily so it gets to be a dark grey color.

Thanks Guessgirl.. I'll have to look at mine closely to see if there is a change. I have been really loving my light blue Paddy and using it everyday since it arrived. It's heavier than the Balenciagas (which do spoil you with their lightness) but I find the Paddy style very comfortable & easy to use.. .. gorgeous leather too!!

Chloe Paddington Hobo

Hi Roccos
This is the first time I've posted and I loved reading your posts regarding Chloe Paddies. I'm in the middle of purchasing a Paddington Hobo (from eBay) and it sounds rather like the large one that that you found too heavy. The measurements say that the bag is 17" W X 14"H which is pretty big for a bag but not the biggest I've seen. Was that about the size of your 'travel bag' one? If so, I'll have to start weightlifting in order to carry it!

made, your bag is sooo pretty. you can tell from the pics that it's really soft.

Please Help I can't make up my mind

Hi girls I came here because all of you know about the paddy bag.. I am not that savy when it comes to this bag especfically, So I would like some advice. I bought a tan Chloe bag today at Nordstrom. I like the softness of it and I think that it will go great with jeans for a more casual look in the summer- but when I got home I found the same bag in color whiskey at NM - I haven't actaully seen the whiskey one except just online. SO what do you think I should do?
Between the tan and the whiskey which one would you choose?
I love the texture and the price was really great I mean much cheapier than my spies!!! Which one looks prettier the tan or the whiskey? I always ask my husband when it comes to bags he has good taste but now I can't- if he knows I bought another bag he will have a heart attack!!!! ^_^

YASSIRA, I definitely prefer the Whiskey to the Tan. I think it is a much richer color. Tan is standard and you can easily find a tan bag anywhere. But this exact color/shade of Whiskey is, in my opinion, more special. I purchased the Whiskey Paddy because I was in love with the color, but sadly, the style of the Paddy is not my style. So now I'm in the process of bidding farewell to my Whiskey. I hate to see the color go, but I don't have much use for a bag that I will never see the light of day with me.
