I'm not really bothered what it's official colour is, to me it is cream or 'off white' as NAP has it listed as. However, when I rang cricket in Liverpool to see if they had any in, they called it cream (?). I get confused with all the different shades! :D It is definitely the S/S 06 one though and it is totally stunning

I just know I am going to want a whiskey too......

Is it just me or does the key strap seem shorter on this seasons paddys?

It may be because once you put stuff in the bag, the straps start to stretch.

I believe the first pic is the jaune, second whiskey, and third is called taupe. There is a new mousse, also, one with silver hardware. The new gold is gorgeous!!! It seems to be a muted gold, can't wait to see in person to find out if that is true. The spring white is a true stark white.

No, I don't think so. The spring white (Chloe calls it "blanc") is actually an ivory. NM had it listed as blanc/ivory and LVR as "blanc". I ordered "blanc" from LVR and it is DEFINITELY ivory (a beautiful color IMO).

BTW - got a "courtesy" call today from Fed Ex informing me that the customs duty for my paddington from LVR is $117. So, it's the 10% that I had thought. Sales tax here is 8% - so I saved $330. by buying from LVR over buying it here in Atlanta. If I had bought from Bergdorf's or somewhere where I wouldn't have been charged sales tax, I would have had to pay for shipping but still saved well over $200. by buying from LVR. And their customer service and packaging was just impeccable.

Thanks, from the photos I've seen, it appeared to be a really white, white.

doesn't lindsay lohan own an ivory/blanc loaf? and the loaf is a.k.a. bowler or box satchel????

in order - loaf (on the left), bowler, east/west paddy

lohan has the bowler.

I meant the leather thong that the padlock key is on. :flower:

The off white/cream paddy is DIVINE. The pictures really don't do it any justice.

I have decided to get another cream as my replacement instead of the whiskey because I am getting a silverado in tan in a month or 2 and so that will fulfill my whiskey/tan colour neccesity! :D

Hi there, I am completely new to Chloe and will be getting a whiskey paddington tomorrow. Forgive me, I have no CLUE what the heck the style is called! I think maybe east/west, not sure tho.

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone is a mom out there and has this bag? How practical is it while holding a baby in your arms and then trying to get in and out of it??

Also is this a heavy bag? I read on the board that the 2006 bags are lighter than the 2005?

One last thing, what kind of leather do they use?? Is it soft squishy leather? I really am hoping it is b/c that is my favorite thing!! I love Balenciaga's but their leather isnt soft and squishy anymore so I am moving on.....or at least, trying to.

welcome to the club mammab! you are probably getting the paddington satchel, which is the original style. the leather is the best part -- thick and slightly wrinkly. I think for practicality it rates a 5 or 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. on the plus side, it's a good size, can be worn on the shoulder and has the two pockets on the sides (which are handy, but be warned that small things tend to get lost in there). on the negative side, it is heavy for its size (especially compared to the balenciaga), the lock can get in the way (don't swing the bag around lest you give someone a black eye), and sometimes I get frustrated with the slouchiness (the very quality I covet) because it makes getting into the bag difficult at times. as for weight, if you are used to mulberry (the roxanne is comparable), you won't be put off by the weight. but if you carry a lot of stuff, this bag may be on the small side. I generally prefer my roxanne for everyday because even though it's heavy, it fits everything I need and is easily accessible. good luck!

Has anyone seen anymore of the tan saddle purse for sale anywhere? I can't find it!

Probably a bit late, but I haven't seen any SS06 saddles for sale... And the FW05 sold out completely...:(

Hi everyone:flower: ,

I'm new but I've tried to read every thread on Paddington purses. I'm getting ready to order one from the NM site and want to know what the zippered areas are like. If it is nylon I'm worried it will break easily. Does anyone have any experience with a Paddington that has a nylon vs metal zipper. Is it as strong as the metal ones......I'm so happy about getting this bag, its my husband's Valentine gift this year.

?? i don't know what nylon zippers are

they're just regular zippers.. not much different from any i've seen on a bag before.. like.. metal.. canvas.. etc..

The SS06 Paddingtons have metal zippers, so no need to worry...:flower:

:winkiss: Lily, thank you sooooooo much for that input and I think I will definitely be a-okay with the weight after reading your post (i've got the roxanne as well). As usual, you are such an amazing help (karma, karma, karma!)
Good point about the black-eye thing....that was so funny :p I'll post a picture of it tomorrow when I get it so you can all confirm the style. How stupid of me not to ask the SA?! I just heard "whiskey" and said, "send it!" The color is really classic.

Thanks again :) :heart::heart:

I know. All the pictures I saw too. I was really worried about that because I didn't want a stark white bag. But it is really ivory (not just a little off-white but alot off-white) - I need to post a pic. I took one with my camera but it came out kind of blurry. I'll try again until I get one that shows the true color and post it.

Oh, I know what you're talking about now. I'll compare my new one to my last seasons one and see!

Thanks You ! I saw a Paddigton once with a nylon zipper (I think it was nylon-it looked clear)) so I am confused and will not be able to see the bag prior to purchase. This site and the great gals here have been terrific for me to learn from. Wish I could have a hands on experience before buying, but it isn't possible. Do you think the paddington will be popular for the next few years?

Hey - Mammab - I left you a post on the other Chloe bag thread about getting in and out of the bag. If you try to lock and unlock the lock everytime you get in and out of it, you'll go nuts. Once you get it, play around with it and you'll come up with a formula that works for you. I think you will really like this bag. Can't wait to hear your reaction after it arrives. Early congrats!!
P.S. the style is called "satchel"
