Christian Dior F/W 2006.07 Paris

Oh dear goodness. Those belts are horrendous. And I don't like the big and bulky look... this collection is like Galliano, himself... dark, gothic, freaky, and crazy, all rolled into one!

God yes! I loved this collection, how could I not, they looked like mini Taimes!

Someone needs to either tame or fire John Galliano because i truley believe he is an embarrasment to Christian Dior's legacy

Those dresses at the very end looked awesome when they were moving in that parachute silk looking fabric....they kind of ballooned and swayed as the girls were walking, I loved them.

Still, the music was most definitly a miss. The presentation could have been spot on if the soundtrack was darker, harder and sexier.

this collection is amazing, despite the horrendous soundtrack, hair/makeup and handbags (which undoubtedly ruin the outfits) .... the presentation would've had so much more impact without all of that crap. there are so many gorgeous pieces... beautiful tailored jackets, in leather, printed or embroidered; absolutely beautiful suits and bias-cut dresses.... just try to take things out of context, and maybe you'll all see what i see.... all photos, firstview......

brian, you rock :mowhawk:

The firstview photos really capture the texture of the pieces, and there's a lot of it. I love the reversed seams and reversed facings some of the jackets have, and those coats that start as opaque boucle and wind up as lace or chffon towards the hem are gorgeous.

the pieces themselves are actually quite amazing.

but the show as a whole was very very poor:(

also the gaucho doesnt go with anything at all.

imo, they should have styled this like a gyspy, kept all the fab pieces, natural & curly hair, deep makeup (big smokey eyes, burgundy lips), add a few scarves and other accessories to make it less made up, totally switched out the shoes. (burgundy/tan/chocolate simple croc pumps...some with sharp 5 inch heels, others with thick dark wood stacked heels, also all with almond shaped toes...)

and although as passe the gyspy look seems, it wouldve have been a much better collection.

:ninja:

I for one loved the show including the music!! And the clothes are so beautiful in detail! It's actually really a good, good collection upon closer inspection!

And Snejana was awesome!

the collection is rich b*tch of the lowest esthetics,
which is john's obvious target group
a bit versace, a watered down version of couture, agreed on all mentioned already, but still, i know this collection is destined to sell like hotcakes.

galliano female clones? disgusting and sad.. and like someone said, we dont want to look like you Johnny boy..
 what an ego tripper, how vain can a fashion designer be?

Agree with you Lena.....! Someone please throw him out! But that probably won't happen because all they can think of is $$$..... This is hurting my eyes..... ! :yuk:

^ ... i agree with lena about john's vanity, at least... he needs to learn some humility...

I loved it! I loved the show. I loved the models. He made them all sexy. Although, in the beginning I found it strange they all look like clones of JG ...howver, it came together well. I loved the collection. Hana Superkova (*thanks for the nic from one of the TFSers. haha) rocked! Loved what they did to her. Loved the BOOTS!!! B)

i agree with that sentiment...

I absolutely can't stand what galliano does with dior. i agree that christian himself would roll over in his grave if only he could see this show, along with most of everything else galliano has done for the house. it is truly a horrible thing to have a runway full of john look-alikes.
